Is your body ready to waste away in front of your computer?

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, inXile's epic post-apocalyptic RPG is here! The masterfully crafted continuation to the 1988s original post-apocalyptic RPG, is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux on GOG.com, for $59.99*.

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, is the direct sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other cRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players’ hands to advance based on their own particular play style. Now, the legend is back, resurrected by the power of thousands of gamers' combined will to visit the grim and dangerous, yet strangely mesmerizing future once again. Today, we celebrate nonlinearity, mature storytelling, and other best traditions of computer RPG design. Brian Fargo and his inXile team opens the doors to the post-apocalyptic future: let's challenge its many dangers, together!

On GOG.com Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition comes complete with a free copy of Wasteland - The Original Classic and inXile's cult fantasy RPG, The Bard's Tale. *$59.99 is the regular price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package"). If you only want to dip your feet before taking the plunge, there's a Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition available (US price: $39.99), and it can be upgraded to Deluxe Edition later.

JMich: All of GOG's files are stored into 2 CDNs. Akamai (for paid stuff) and Amazon (for free stuff). Both of those 2 CDNs have an excellent track record of delivering their content properly, assuming the content on the server is correct.
Once we've eliminated the servers as problematic, we move to distribution of the files. That is your ISP. You claim that your ISP is not at fault, so let's work with that assumption.
The third and final part is the end user. The end user chooses the method to download the file, out of the methods he/she has available. Usual method is the browser, not so usual method is download managers (GetRight, FlashGet, etc) and command line tools (wget, Invoke-WebRequest, etc). A method that supports resuming is highly recommended, especially since the servers support resuming broken downloads.

So, the servers are not at fault, otherwise noone would have been able to get the files. Your ISP is not at fault (according to you), so the end user must be at fault.
Feel free to ask for help on getting the files to resume, or ask us to give you alternatives to your browser to be able to download your files.

P.S. Did you also leave a similar review on The Witcher 2? Or is that file ok, even though it's larger than Wasteland 2?

Edit: Since I haven't followed this incident that closely, did you contact GOG support for this? They have had provided ftp links in the past, though mostly for older installers, and you should be able to use any ftp client to get the file correctly, assuming of course your ISP didn't crap out on you.
I did contact support and they had to fix something related to the download. As in it was a problem on their end and not on my end. And the fact that it was preventing me from accessing the game at all is something that people ought to be aware of when making their decisions. Blaming decisions that GOG made on the ISP isn't helpful.

The point that the fanbois are ignoring is that files that size just are not suitable for use on a service like this. You can't burn them to a DVD, so if you've got a friend with a better connection, you can't go over there to download it easily. You can't back them up to a DVD either. And I don't think that I don't have thumbdrives large enough for a file like that either.

If the file gets corrupted, you're stuck downloading the entire file rather than just a portion of the file.

I left the review because it was something that people needed to know about. Not only did the file not download in Linux, it wouldn't download in Windows either because the download manager won't download the file. I wasn't aware that TW2 had similar issues.

Anyways, I'm done with this, I've got better things to do than to argue with the fanbois here. Files this size are just asking for this kind of trouble, that's why Steam offers the type of download manager that it offers. If a part of the file goes missing or corrupted, you don't have to download the entire thing typically.
By the way, I've bought Digital Deluxe Edition upgrade DLC for 15 euro, and my Kickstarter edition still didn't get fully upgraded, all I have are the novels, the manual, the reference card and Bard's Tale 2 code (I don't have the classics goodies - the soundtrack etc).

I don't even need an additional Wasteland 1 code, as I got it with my kickstarter. If I were to get another Wasteland 1 code, I'd give it away on this forum.

I wrote to support, got no reply.

Nice, real nice...

I am totally loving this game, imo it's easily one of the best games I have ever played, really diggin this, way more than I'd thought, but this DLC mistake, and the time it's taking them to fix this, unfourtonately is leaving me distasted.

Windows, or Linux - it doesn't matter, it's best to use a download manager / torrent, when it comes to download big / a lot of files.

The Linux version is glorious! It runs better on Linux Mint XFCE 17 than on Windows 7 ;]

It's totally playable, even though my CPU is i7 1.6ghz (dual core) - but fortunately, this game is heavy on the ram, of which I have plenty.

As I said, I didn't follow the story that closely. If you say that GOG had to fix something so the files on the CDN could be downloaded, then yes, the problem was on their end. If the files on the CDN though were ok, then the problem was on the end user, whether that is he's using a blocked IP or that he's using an unreliable download method.

As for the files being too big, you already know that when you go to download the file. If I try to download a windows iso through an http download, I know that I'll be grabbing a multi-GB file and I take the necessary precautions, be they a reliable connection or a download manager.
Is such a large file on http the optimal choice? No. Is it a bad choice? Again, no.

Now, for The Witcher 2 part. TW2 has a 19GB Linux file, which isn't downloadable through the downloader (Linux installer), so the only option is http download. Seeing how it's 1.5 times the size of Wasteland 2, why haven't there been complaints about that?

And as for the file failing, did it fail due to timeout, so you could be resuming the broken download with a proper wget method, or did it fail due to corruption, which (again) is on the end user part?

Either way, you are convinced that you did all you could to download the file, ignoring at least 3 options (download managers, wget to resume downloads, ftp through GOG support). And a spotty internet connection is an end user problem, not a server one.

Feel free to continue arguing, but you do seem to come off as someone who can't get the usual method to work, so assumes the delivery is broken, without checking if there are other methods.

P.S. If you had at least 3 corrupted downloaded files, there are methods to create a non-corrupted one, that work under the assumption that not all files get corrupt at the same place, so it can XOR its way to a non-corrupt file. But that assumes you are/were interested in playing the game, not dissing the delivery method.
So I just downloaded and installed the patch, and now my save games won't load? The patch notes say nothing about save game incompatibility.

Patch is broken (problem is apparently on GOG's end).

Heyo, thanks for the comment about the PoE key! What exact version do we have? I kind of want to "upgrade" to the deluxe for the fancy and whatnot, but the version that I have doesn't show anything as "owned" despite it being on my game shelf.

We have the basic no-frills version with no extras (well, we get the manual, map, and reference card).

For some reason it's not listed when you do a search, and I noticed last night that the Wasteland forums are also not automatically attached to my 'Game Specific Forums' listing. I think I'll toss a question at GOG Support on Monday. I personally don't mind if we only get the basic version of the game, but ffs they shouldn't be seemingly going out of their way to rub in our face that we got a crappy version.

Since the website update they have stopped to automatically add game forums to the list after you buy something. That has nothing to do with your Wasteland 2 versions. :(

This happened when I bought Heroes of Might and Magic V, the "Game Specific Forum" wasn't automatically added to my list of games...

I should add this was last year before the website update...

Huh. Was inXile incredibly specific about what they wanted users to get out of the GOG version with a key and that's why it took a few days(even though Steam keys have been available since forever)?

No idea. Obsidian said they were waiting for inXile. inXile said they were waiting for GOG, and GOG didn't say anything.

I haven't kept up with it. Does PoE look like a good one? That's what I'm expecting from Obsidian anyway, and I'm sure most probably are too.

Yeah, it does. I've been playing the beta and although there are some issues (expected with beta builds) I think that overall it's looking very good.
