Is your body ready to waste away in front of your computer?

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, inXile's epic post-apocalyptic RPG is here! The masterfully crafted continuation to the 1988s original post-apocalyptic RPG, is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux on GOG.com, for $59.99*.

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, is the direct sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other cRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players’ hands to advance based on their own particular play style. Now, the legend is back, resurrected by the power of thousands of gamers' combined will to visit the grim and dangerous, yet strangely mesmerizing future once again. Today, we celebrate nonlinearity, mature storytelling, and other best traditions of computer RPG design. Brian Fargo and his inXile team opens the doors to the post-apocalyptic future: let's challenge its many dangers, together!

On GOG.com Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition comes complete with a free copy of Wasteland - The Original Classic and inXile's cult fantasy RPG, The Bard's Tale. *$59.99 is the regular price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package"). If you only want to dip your feet before taking the plunge, there's a Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition available (US price: $39.99), and it can be upgraded to Deluxe Edition later.

Strong candidate for Game of the Year.

JohnnyDollar: I imagine some are thinking that it's solid already.
After spending a night with it I must say it is really solid. Sure, it's less chatty-chatty and more fighty-fighty than I'd like it to be but I guess it's just being true to the original game. Locations, characters and plot are fine and that's what really matters for me.
Only one (pretty frustraging) bug so far.

hedwards: The game still can't be downloaded for Linux and Mr. Gog still doesn't care at all.

I'm probably not going to be buying any more games from GOG this year as it's the only way that they're going to learn that you can't break downloads because something shiny came along.

Downloading should have been a no-brainer. Downloading files is essentially the same on all OSes and the fact that it won't even download using Windows says something about how little Mr. Gog cares about Linux users.
Hedwards, could you please at least include some useful information like what your ISP and connection stats are when you post a "review" about how your connection provider is unreliable and you are unable to download the game?

What a surprise, I managed to download gog_wasteland_2_1.0.0.4.tar.gz without GOG Downloader and extracted files without any error message.

Either ask your friend to download it for you or GOG for refund.

FYI, actual directory size is over 22 GB.

Same here. Except no bug so far.

I was bit nervous about a lack of any time-dependent healing system, available ammo and not being able to save during fights like in FO1/2 but I managed to survive till now, so it probably won't be that big issue.

I have read ammo is mostly bought from vendors in Ranger Center or other city. AP/CON is fully healed for now by leveling; I hope I will be able to have solid pile of first aid when waiting time between levels will be longer :D.

That's where my bug kicks in - I can't enter Ranger Center, the game always crashes when I do :)
Tip: follow the Void-Kampf tortoise.

My ISP is completely irrelevant. The issue here is that the size of the download is completely inappropriate for the method of transmission. I did eventually manage to get the download to complete last night, but now I have no way of knowing if the file was corrupted at all.

It's completely relevant to warn people that the file is massive and that the GOG Downloader won't work on it. It took approximately 30 gigs of downloads to get a copy that would complete and I had to try multiple download managers before I found one that would resume the download.

So, perhaps it worked for you, but what about people the majority of people that aren't fortunate enough to live in places with good internet connections? There's any number of reasons why a download could fail and acting like because this didn't happen to you that it must be something that's related to me is pretty disgusting.

GOG has a long history of failing miserably with download managers and assuming that everybody's connection is stable enough to handle a download of that size without corruption and without failing is piss poor planning.

I switch to melee for my characters since the start of the beta to save bullets. So far the final game has been pretty generous on bullets, didn't have to buy any yet. But I suspect I will have to when I start using burst fire modes like I had to in the beta.

Had my sniper switch to melee when he ran out of bullets :D (I love snipers btw, they're so effective).
Anyway, don't think I'm playing very smart (I'm in the AG center atm), wonder how long I'll survive :D
I just cleaned up the mess on the agricultural center... I must say that so far I'm really enjoying the game! It manages to remain -at least, imo- true to the spirit of the first one while much improving the gameplay. I have just started it, but if it keeps going on like that it could even surpass many turn-based classic we all know and love! All I have to see now is some reactivity in action, but for that I will of course need more time.
I fear I may regret a few choices I made during character creation: like in the first one, I preferred to assign a single point to many abilities instead that specialize in just a few... moreover, as soon as I trained my medic in surgery I found a companion starting with a skill of 5 in the same field. Sigh.
Just bought it from Gamersgate with a discount voucher , I would have got this from gog , but I refuse to buy anything here until they get rid of the the shitty iTunes clone they have created ..... and if they don't ? .. RIP gog , for me anyways ;)
expected more from this game..backed it up,didnt want anything in return..way too expensive.way too ugly.returning to fallout 2

Don't scare me :p. I am just about to finish the research center and on my way back. Fingers crossed.

I am trying to have at least 2 melee/assault builds. Ammo has been available on the way but it seems I am struggling to find one for my only sniper. I assume it will be possible to restock in cities through it will be probably too expensive. I will have to think of another build for her.

I did same - sniper/medic/leader. Distant leader wasn't very good choice because range of the skill is pretty short.

And I was under impression that Rosa will leave the group when the task is complete. Probably not.

Yup, the Leadership skill is not very useful from the distance. My leader-medic uses Assault rifles due to their versatility!
I admit I also underestimated the Speed attribute: it can work wonders in dire situations. Right now, I would say that every parameter seems very important: that is commendable, given the fact that usually every RPG has at least one completely useless skill or two! :)

I don't know about Rose: since I just fixed the problems there and I'm about to leave, I would probably have the answer in a little while! She's a very valuable companion, but maybe it would be better if she did not stick around: right now she outshines the boss as a amedic and does not respect orders quite too often! ;)

Trust me when I say you need at least a good sniper on your team. You'll definitely need a sniper to survive later on. I also use them to draw the first shot since they hit furthest and hit for most (normally).

I'm sick of the AG centre, just completed it for the 4th or 5th time now. Highpool 3rd time I think.
high rated

F4LL0UT: Well, I mean, okay, I have no idea how much the game really cost and how much of the raised money is left (if any) but still - it's an indie game that has been funded by parties that don't need to be paid back.
All the Kickstarter money was spent and we doubled the amount raised. We got $3 million from Kickstarter, minus significant percentage for fees and physical goods, but WL2's final budget was over $5M thanks to money inXile put in from back catalog, Early Access sales and Brian Fargo's personal money (several hundreds of Ks of that)

She stays :) For science and decadence!
