Reality--it can be such a drag, right? Just how many times you think you'd love to escape to some imaginary land when everything is simpler and more exciting? Thanks to the modern magic of computer games, you can do just that. Among the fantastic realms created by game developers, the one you'll get to explore in Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition stands out thanks to its size, complexity, and the number of different things you can do as your digital heroic alternate self. If you're the escapist type this one will most certainly live up to your expectations.

In Two Worlds 2 you can ride on horseback, craft items, forge weapons and armor, and even brew potions. The game offers a diverse landscape of forests, deserts, swamps, seashores, cities, and fields, venturing deep into forgotten caverns and dungeons. The way you develop your character is entirely left to your decision. Combine the skills of a ranger, a mage, and a warrior, balancing the focus and creating your own perfect build. The Epic Edition offered on GOG.com includes the original Two Worlds II, the Pirates of the Flying Fortress expansion, and Two Worlds II: Castle Defense.

A whole new life in a fantastic realm far, far away is now well within your reach. Get Two Worlds 2 Epic Edition, for only $9.99 on GOG.com! The release promo offer lasts until Thursday, May 2, at 9:59AM GMT.

No Mac version released Paul, even though as I'd guess you know too - they are all available elsewhere.

Smannesman: That's pretty impressive man!
For me you would have to multiply the first and divide the last two statistics.
Shopaholics FTW!
I need more hard-drive space, more time, and possibly less console games in my life.... Damn you, Fire Emblem!
hmmmm... thought I owned this already... now I'm certain I do ;)

Of course I know ;) I already post some more info about that some post later on that one ;) However, I see there is no Two Worlds Mac version (the first episode)....interesting.....Something for on my todo list ;)
Any word on if the Worldmerge overhaul mod by youngneil1 works with the GOG version of the game?

Oooh that looks interesting.
What do you think, is there any value in playing the game without the mod first?

cyboff: all is nice... but.... but still there is something missing... something like... like... Mac version?

drpaulthetall: Because GOG.com offers everything for the same price $9,99 in this case, which is already a magnificent low price. This game because of developers costs for a Mac version of the game (which is there) might have been significant and the developers they might not been agreeing with the same price of $9,99 for the Mac version as well.

However maybe in the near future the developers will might be enlightend and offer it for the same price as the Windows version. The same happened most likely for psychonauts which is now as well on GOG.com as native release (no wine port) by the developers.
This game was not ported by a separate company selling it, such as Feral or Aspyr who need to set their own prices to recover their costs and still make a profit. When a publisher or developer does it in-house they can afford to sell it at the same price they sell the Windows version for and this is what you normally see. The added development cost pays for itself in terms of added revenue and profits, including when the title is sale priced to move a greater number of units even though at lesser profit. They don't do this for nothing. In the final analysis - they make MORE money selling this to Windows users for 10 bucks based on total unit sales than they would selling it for 20 with less unit sales and this same math works for other OS versions on a smaller scale, dependent on market size.

I consider a decision by the publisher (if that is what this is) to not also offer the Mac version on sale when it is them who are selling both (again, unlike Feral or Aspyr ports) to be penny wise and pound foolish.

My personal reaction as a Mac gamer to this is, well, screw them then and that feeling will carry over when future purchases are considered. I'm sure I'm hardly the only one to look at things this way. This works well for them how?

I would also appreciate a blue post that explains why this game is not here. I appreciate that the amount of information that can be shared in such cases is often quite limited but I basically want to know, who called this play? Was it GOG or was it Topware? I like it when I know who exactly I am unhappy with.

Also, it is important to keep in mind that this game is not new. It has been out for quite some time now. They have already recovered development costs is the highly likely case for both Windows and Mac given the games popularity, reviews and presence in digital retail including the Mac App Store, Steam, etc. I cannot believe that revenues from this game at this point are not all going right to the profit column at this point - including for the Mac version. If they have not fully recovered costs on Two Worlds II by now, the game was financially an abysmal failure - I have trouble believing that could be true.
A good game, im sad it took so long to get here, i recently replaced my not so legal copy with a steam copy but i might buy it on GoG too at some point
I'm in! I'm in!
No brainer for me, good price, no DRM, decent game from what I hear. Sold
Seems like I already own Two Worlds 2 for PS3, no matter it probably isn't a very Epic Edition.

I have been waiting for this one! I was surprised at how much I loved the first one, after I got through the learning curve.

The file paul.dll is used by SecuRom to activate games. Conspiracy? I think so!
