A conflict on a celestial scale!

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/nexus_the_jupiter_incident/]Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, a story-driven real-time tactical game that puts a fleet of heavily armed spacecrafts at your command, is available on GOG.com for only $9.99!

You are Marcus Cromwell, a young and ambitious captain of a legendary Stiletto spacecraft. As your career begins, a devastating war over precious resources that could grant stellar dominion ensues on the edge of the solar system. Your tactical skill and battle expertise might prove to be the tipping point of the entire conflict that future generations would call “The Jupiter Incident”.

Nexus is a TFS--which stands for a Tactical Fleet Simulation according to the game’s developers--and that seems to be the most adequate of possible descriptions. In over 30 complex missions you will command a fleet of varied spacecrafts in a fully 3D environment, choosing your own tactics to push your forces towards the victory. And between battles you will manage your flotilla--upgrade, enhance and repair your ships with the resources awarded after a successful battle.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is a great tactical challenge with astounding visuals that will satisfy strategy gamers and space-opera fans alike, now on GOG.com for only $9.99

WBGhiro: Dear god, nobody is happy with anything around here anymore.
THEY DIDN'T RELEASE GAME X.
For those that have played this before, is it a 'Pause and give orders' kind of Tactical game, or a Real-Time Only kind?

Pause-a-lot kind of game, yes.

DukeNukemForever: Early viewer problem, it seems it was a mistake and they fixed and removed it :-/
Ah,...that`s a letdown, hm? They could make a lot more money, if they would add more efgis - games. I, for one, prefer the german version, whenever possible.

Very much "Pause while your fleet sails merrily into death and destruction and give some orders, because sweet zombie Mohangas, you are outnumbered again."
Wow, another space RTS. It's funny, I always considered this to be a very small genre but considering the amount of this kind of games on GOG it seems like there's a zillion of them out there.

I think TET is a fan of those kind of games.

There were zillions of that games made for one simple reason:

you don't need to draw / model terrain ;p

If I can pause the game, issue orders, spin the camera 'round a lot going "ooooh, isn't it pretty?", look at all the ships in detail, change my mind about some of the orders, go make a cup of tea, drink my tea, unpause the game, and watch my fleet die horribly because my orders were no good, then I might just go buy this game right now!

Yep, sometimes I feel like they have a habit of releasing the games THEY like, before games requested by people :P

It will be a very bad day, everybody is happy with everything around here, every time.

Cos that will be the day, the world collapses.

Sometimes, you just have to stop caring too much. ;) (from what I've learned)

Anyway, not into this genre, but at least it's old-ish and people are saying it's good!

Do not forget that there are EXPLOSIONS. Not just capital Explosions, but capital EXPLOSIONS.

The ones that cover all the screen. And not only from exploding ships, there are also weapons which look like huge nuclear explosions only in omg space!

What other incentive do you need?

Seriously, buy this game. It is difficult, challenging and hideously fun. And there are huge EXPLOSIONS in it.

That's more reason for me not to buy. I can't stand hard games.
