His name is not Mark.

Mark of the Ninja is the sneakiest one-of-a-kind stealth platformer that you’ll never see coming. How did it get here? We have no idea. The Special Edition is available for $5.99, for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, on GOG.com! If you’re just not ready for the commitment, grab the basic edition for only $4.99 and the Special Edition upgrade can be yours for another $1.66 when you’re ready for more. The 66% discount across all three items lasts until Friday, August 8, at 9:59AM GMT.

The Mark is a sacred tradition of the Hisomu ninja clan. Extracted from the leaves of a mysterious desert flower, its essence holds a great but dangerous power that will snap even the strongest of minds. Generations past have found a way to harness this gift of nature, to draw upon it in need and strike against those who threaten their way. You have volunteered to be marked with this essence. In doing so, you will become strong, an unstoppable force. You will become aware, one with your surroundings. You will become agile, neither seen nor heard. You will use this power to protect the Hisomu clan. But as your body drinks the ink marking your skin, you slowly descend into madness. And when insanity takes hold, when actions stop being your own, will you make the sacrifice to protect the clan? This is the mark of the ninja.

You won’t find a more ambitious foray into 2D stealth gameplay than Mark of the Ninja. A detailed and consistent sound and sight system, as well as non-linear level design give you the freedom to approach every objective in your own way. Whether you’re a predator relishing each kill, a phantom striking fear and disorder into enemy ranks, or no more than a gust of wind, you can expect the same level of satisfyingly challenging gameplay. Go one step further, complete challenges, and unlock additional suits and abilities to compliment your playstyle. Once you think you’ve seen it all… New Game+ awaits with a whole new set of rules to overcome. All of this gameplay, wrapped in smooth animation on beautifully drawn backdrops, is enough to make bystanders forget you’re playing a game.

Mark of the Ninja Special Edition expands your options with a completely fresh non-lethal playstyle. Don the garbs of Dosan, a ninja tattoo artist with his own bag of tricks, and discover the intrigue that lead up to the main story. Done it all? The DLC also includes detailed developer commentary (in six languages!) scattered throughout the campaign for a fresh take on the world of Mark of the Ninja.

Disappear into the shadows, delve into madness, and honor your Mark of the Ninja for only $5.99 on GOG.com!

JudasIscariot: You're looking at the Special Edition aren't you? :)

Tarnicus: Dear developer,

I previously purchased this game elsewhere and was wondering, now that the game has been GOGLit when will I get my GOG key?

Regards,
Entitlement
Ummm wat?

I think I get your drift but I don't see what it has to do with the 0 MB size issue?

RadonGOG: That game was a very nice one (got it on Humble and finished it already) but I´d like to support such games coming to GOG and that´s why I instabuy it now ;D
Same story here. Great introductory price, makes it easy for me to justify rebuying it here. And the game is a lot of fun, though definitely one for an Xbox controller or the like.

If you like stealth games, or action platformers, or both, grab it now.

RadonGOG: 1. It´s not hard on specs, but maintaining 60 FPS @1080P isn´t always given on LowEnd-Hardware!
2. Get the SpecialEdtion!

Another thing to say: This will proberbly not the only indie release for today. Mind: Path to Thalamus will be released in less then three hours! And if nothing got wrong, it´ll land here at that time!
The guy who made the game seems to like Steam and Valve modifying so it might not come here. He made a campaign for left 4 dead 2 which was made official by Steam. Looks like a nice game though, it would be a buy for me but only if it comes here.

tinyE: Is that seriously the name? XD I'm getting that regardless of if I want it just so I can see that title on my shelf.
Yes, it is:

Beatiful design and nice gameplay design---just like MarkOfTheNinja, but totally different game! :D :D :D

tfishell: We be needin' these, too (I have a small indie list based on the wishlist):
I would like to add to this list:

A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2
Fly'n
Reprisal
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken

And possible candidates, though on the short side playwise:

Arson & Plunder
Bleed
Finding Teddy
Gunpoint
Inescapable

Two answers on my mails dealing with the GOG-release:
"It will soon be available on GoG and other platforms as well, do not worry :)"
and later on: "We are on the process of adding it to GoG. If nothing goes wrong, it will be there as soon as possible."
Ahhhhhh! This is one of my absolute favorite games, it's one of the only platformer games I can stand (and I don't just like it, I love it), it feels like it was animated by Disney of the 1990's! It plays so, so silky smooth (I use a mouse and keyboard) and the feel, and the atmosphere! It's just the best. Plus that is a delicious intro sale. Insta-rebuy, I am so happy this showed up on GOG. Finally I can gift it without feeling scummy. :D
Why does the game have three entries? Is everything becoming like the Gods watching thing?

Should have been a little more specific.

Nice, you´ve reminded me that I should get a gift copy on top of it :D

djdarko: Very cool addition to the GOG library!

But let me get this straight: the "Special Edition" only contains 2 wallpapers... and normal upgrade price is going to be $4.99?

I really hope this isn't going to be the start of a trend here.
Good reason to skip.

spagbol: Any chance of the prequel coming to GOG too?

Steve of the Ronin?
I'm waiting for the sexy spin-off, Samantha of the Kunoichi.

It was actually a misunderstanding on my part, I was looking at the bonus content of the Upgrade.

Wait, the whole special edition stuff should appear in-game - I'm talking developer's commentary and some additional tools.

Spooky as hell, man. I was just coming here to make a "Betty of the Kunoichi" joke, and spotted your update.

Weirdness abounds...

It's just that buying on GOG used to be simpler than elsewhere. Game is up, has extras, buy. Now it's starting to look like Steam.
