Generals gathered in their masses!

Hogs of War, a pork-flavored turn-based strategy title with four player multiplay and some cheeky sense of humor, is available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Arm your Hogs of War to the teeth with a choice of 40 different weapons including sniper rifles, bazookas, mines, jetpacks, cluster grenades, and tanks to fight for one of six different pig armies, each one based on a real nation from the First World War-era: Great Britain, Russia, Germany, Japan, France, or the USA. There's an explosive 25 level single player campaign for you to take on, and an addictive online multiplayer mode for up to four players. You can customize your squad as you promote your hogs from Grunt to Officer in one of four different classes - Heavy Weapons, Medic, Espionage, or Engineer - your swine will learn more skills and acquire the use of a wider range of weaponry. All this with a solid serving of cheeky sense of humor brought to life by the vocal talents of renowned British comedian Rik Mayall.

If you love turn-based strategies but you don't want to take all of your virtual wars that seriously, make sure to give Hogs of War a try, for only $5.99 on GOG.com (or, if you prefer, the equivalent in EUR, AUD, GBP, or RUB).
Does this game have widescreen resolutions?
Hi all,

I bought this game a few hours ago. It doesn't support widescreen resolutions. The highest it can go is 1024x768. The main menu flickers a lot, but I've always had this problem with this game. I wish there was a way to turn off the music. I remember playing a version of this game that had no music at all. Overall, the game is great, fun and quite challenging at later levels. I would advise you to not let any of the pigs in your team die, and you should also collect all the special bonuses in every mission, otherwise you might find it very hard to complete the game.

Regards,
Alex
Wow, I played this a lot on Playstation 1, but I had no idea it was released for a PC too! Nice release :)

Me too! My friend and I played it a lot together back on the playstation. This is a great release and we might both pick it up together.
Great addition to GOG.
I also have a PS1 copy of this game, as it's one of my all time favourites. A superb and funny turn-based battle game. I much prefered it to Worms. Rik Mayall's voice talents on it gave it extra flavour.

Great it's on GOG at last :D
Is there a way to force windowed mode? There isn't any widescreen resolution support.
Oh shit my PSOne days are back!!
Well GOG dropped the ball on this one.
1. Enenmy hogs dont move
2. Missing some in game music
3. Menus flash/tearing
4. No windowed mode.
Lost a lot of trust in GOG and a waste money.

Are you on Windows 8 by any chance? If so, we tried but we couldn't get it to work on Windows 8/8.1 at this time. If you are NOT on Windows 8, please send us a Support ticket and we'll help you out to get the game working on your system :)

Edit: in the PC version the hogs are meant not to move.

I am on Windows 7 and the game works and i would not mind the flashing/tearing on the menus even not being able to play in a window. But the hogs not moving in the PC version is BAD, turning this into a pointless game which really should not have been put up for sale in the first place, which just renforced my last point about this being a waste of money.

Blame the developer dude... They released this game like 10 years ago with these 'features'. PC and PS1 were different from the start.
The singleplayer had replay value, making each playthrought different with the classes. Didn't like the multiplayer much with the empty maps, mazes and gimmicky arenas. The PC version is brighter but lacks the Mardy Pigs difficulty.

Supershotgunning hogs out of the map = good times.

I found the final mission sequence break by myself as well somewhere in 2004.
Wish there was a level editor for the campaign, and a sequel.

Hmm...I definitely finished the second playthrough in PC version with Mardy Pigs (Purple Team), maybe you're thinking about something else?!

For real?
I mean: when it's your pig's turn, you can't re-position it before firing a shot?
