More of the old-school goodness.

Eschalon Book II, sequel to an old-school RPG with open world, classic gameplay mechanics and isometric graphics, is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's only $4.99 for the first week!

Nowadays, you get to know everything about a new game long before its development is complete. You get trailers, sneak peeks, developer interviews and diaries, progress updates, and concept-art showcases. It's all fun and exciting, but doesn't it take away a bit of the pleasure of visiting a brave new world for the first time, you get when you actually play for the first time? Basilisk Games team think it does, so they took a different approach, developing their RPG saga in secrecy, and sharing very little information about the game prior to its release. You know, just like in the old days!

Eschalon Book II sports the same old-school looks and mechanics that made the first part so well received by classic RPG games fans. Without messing around with the time-proven concepts it adds some modern things like higher resolution, weather affecting not only how the game's world looks, but also how the game plays, and many other little tweaks. What you get here, is a direct sequel to the first game, with just enough modifications to make it up to date. More classic computer role-playing for everyone!

Continue your fullfiling old-school cRPG experience with Eschalon Book II for only $4.99! That's 50% off the regular price until Tuesday, May 14, at 9:59AM GMT.

Great addition to GOG no doubt. Book 3 coming this summer as well.
AWESOME games!!!

22 hours into Book 2 presently and loved every minute so far, you can play it like a hack n slash or do turn based with grid on screen if you wish.

Well worth grabbing and playing through.

Both games can be played independently of each other, you don't need to have finished the first game to play the second and know what is going on. Your hero starts out years after the events of the first game and has become just an average everyday person so his skills are rusty and you start out on the second adventure back at level 0!
2 separate headlines. But wrong links for Eschalon Book II last paragraph:

"Continue your fullfiling old-school cRPG experience with Eschalon Book I for only $4.99! That's 50% off the regular price until Tuesday, May 14, at 9:59AM GMT."

Perhaps you guys should have make it one headline. It is the same series after all.
Anyway, the game looks good. But I think it is not my type of game. Perhaps I am not really into the so called "old-school cRPG"

I thought that maybe we should link those two together, but later abandoned the idea. Hence the confusion. Sorry, ant thanks for pointing it out!
I've bought both for full price (19,99 and 24,99 dollars) from the devs so I probably won't be getting it again here, but they're lovely games, so cheers GOG!
Eight bucks for both? Are you friggin' serious? Everyone needs to buy these now.

I can't wait for Book 3.
Looks interesting...tempting. I have heard of these titles, but never played them. Will probably grab them, just need to have alittle chat with my brother.

That's great news. Love the Eschalon games.
I have only the 2 in Steam and only played a little, at least in the begining is more hard than the Spiderweb RPGs

When I first saw that last paragraph I thought you guys make those 2 games as a bundle (Eschalon I + Eschalon II at $4.99). It turned out just wrong links. and you have fixed it now. No more confusion :D

Tooo...many...RPGs...could spend the next 3 years playing only RPGs, dammit.
Wishlisted :D
I'm so glad to see these titles here. About 4 months ago I was tempted to get them from Steam, then I sobered up and decided to wait and see if they would ever show up here; eureka! Very glad I waited.
Sorry, can anyone get an image of the face in the advert?
I have tried to catch him several times and I always come press pause a little too late.

On the games, they look really nice. Will pick theses up with any good deals this week.
