Welcome to your new turn-based addiction!

Eador. Masters of the Broken World, a fantastic turn-based strategy game of epic proportions, with RPG elements, is available on GOG.com, for only $19.99.

The shards of Eador, the world shattered by the legendary cataclysm, are never at peace. The demigod masters, the immortal rulers of this strange realm, wage eternal wars against each other. This is a land that lost its hope for being reunited, broken beyond fixing. Is there even a slightest chance to mend the wounds that have been there for what it seems like forever? Is there a power strong enough to conquer all the opposition and end the chaos forever? Could that power be you?

Eador. Masters of the Broken World is the next big thing in turn-based strategy games. It takes all the complexity you would expect from a 4X game (that is: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate), adds some extra challenge, extends the gameworld beyond measure, and finishes off the mixture with some top-notch dreamy graphics. If you're looking for one game, that you can easily keep playing and replaying for years to come, you have found it.

Take a few days off, kiss your loved ones goodbye, set an automatic feeder for your cat and take a plunge into the multi-layered universe of Eador. Masters of the Broken World, for only $19.99 on GOG.com!
Anyways, what the hell do I do with injured units? They don't heal between battles...

This is surprising how? If they have a preorder up you can expect it to be available when it comes out, no? :)
I'm agreeing with Fenixp it is much prettier than the first one but not as easy to use
maybe getting old makes adjusting to change hard :)

Dear GOG team,

is this release some kind of bad joke ? How do i get a refund ?
This game is totally unfinished and bugged. It also misses features that were advertised by the developers (grayed out buttons lol).

For those wondering, don't buy it.

they do heal but slowly if you have healer units like acolytes they should recover faster unless they have changed this from the last game

Hickory: What I find incredibly irritating is people who criticize grammar while making a similar mistake themselves -- that should be Eador(colon) Masters of the Broken World. What is a 'column' in grammar?
Whoops. Still i'm not criticizing the grammar just the weirdness of it, you don't see a title with a "." in the middle of it every day. Unless it's an acronym.

And in my defense a colon doesn't look like a ":" either. you strange englishmen with your strange english language.

WBGhiro: So the official title is Eador(full stop)Masters of the Broken World instead of Eador(column)Masters of the Broken World?

I find this incredibly irritating.
avatar
Soyeong: I'm pretty sure that's a typo.
HA! I see what you did there.

Fenixp: He meant Eador | Masters of the Broken World :-P
Even if that were true, that is called a pipe, or a bar, NOT a column. :/

Don't forget the ridiculous optimization. I have a Geforce GTX 660m, an intel core i7, 16 gigs ram and IT LAGS ON MEDIUM GFX!

Not planning to buy this anytime soon based on reviews, but out of curiosity I have a question: MotBW is currently selling for $20, while Eador: Genesis is currently selling for $6; where's $14 worth of value supposed to be coming from? From what I've read of MotBW the gameplay is pretty much copypasta, the campaign is pretty much copypasta, the graphics got a facelift but with some loss of functionality in the process, and there are currently reports of a fair number of bugs and poor optimization. Given all this, just where is the $14 or value that MotBW is supposed to be adding on top of Genesis?
It's a shame the game is apparently in the state it is. I had preordered, but went to view the forum late this morning (IE 1/2- amish) and caught wind of the state of the game. I then cancelled my preorder citing concerns with bugs and possible release day planned DLC's.

I don't have a problem with developers working to fix up their game post-release...but I'm not going to pay to be in the process. In a way I feel for them, because they probably need the sales to continue fixing the game up, but if they can get the game in a good state word of mouth will help carry them ultimately.

What state? I've just finished my first shard and haven't run into a single bug. Apparently multiplayer is missing, but since I couldn't care less about that...

Comparing it to Genesis, it has prettier graphics that are unfortunately less informative, the alignment of your master seems to have much less effect (rather a good thing, since playing evil was almost unplayable in Genesis with all the unrest), and most importantly, you can save whenever you want.
Whether that's worth the price difference is up to you.

After a couple of hours playing i haven't noticed any bugs or glitches either. I'm in the same boat as you regarding mutiplayer, if not for the fora i'd probably never notice it's missing. Still, folks were expecting it to be in, it's dissapointing that it isn't.

The game is gorgeous, the visuals and music are a perfect match now.

No offense, but there's always that person who says the same thing about any game.

I have no personal reference, but the forum seems quite littered with bug reports and there's the whole pre-release hoopla. If you're having a bug free experience, super, but enough people were talking about the state of the game to scare me off.
