Race through the odd odds.

Vangers, a classic quirky original mash-up of a racing game, an RPG, and a shooter, giving you freedom to explore a vast sandbox of a strange and surprising gameworld, is available on GOG.om, for only $5.99.

Vangers is a mixture of various, yet consistent gameplay components. The player enters the strange world of the future, emerged as a result of the clash between humankind and another intelligent race of creatures, and now living according to its own rules. The world challenges for the quest. With a big sandbox of a world to explore and shape, multiple endings and open gameplay, and over 70 mods to customize one of the 30 available "cars", this little-known classic will keep you entertained for hours!

Embrace the wheel of your vehicle and the disturbing strangeness of the late-1990s artistic vision in Vangers, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.

bombe_zwanzig: this is sad :( i realy liked it. it wasn't very good when put to its original purpose but it looked very nice.

LVEB: Agreed + it didn't work well with optical mice at all (rather obvious, but stil..). But yeah, it looked very nice and I sometimes took it out just to look at and play around with it a bit - never really used it, though.
German publisher was cool.
We can, maybe, re-make that strange mousepad? It was definitely very amusing! If there is appropriate demand for it.

IAmSinistar: This discussion is definitely increasing my interest in the game now. Tempting to grab it immediately, especially given the Perimeter connection.
For what it's worth: This is the very first time that I got a game here on GOG right on release day, without waiting for a discount.

its other way around! Perimeter has Vangers connections! Not other way around!

So A is connected to B, but B is not connected to A. Somewhat of a paradox, n'est pas? :3

That would be cool indeed, but distribution might be a bit difficult
An idea would be to team up with the indiebox guys (https://www.theindiebox.com/) or some other indie-friendly publisher (Iceberg Interactive perhaps) for a physical release with the pad as an extra.

go get it. it is very strange, but well worth the money. it'll get you hooked once you figure out controls and some of the worlds behaviour...

I think I shall. GOG needs to be rewarded for granting was is clearly a dear wish for a number of folks. And I have to support the strange games that dare to try something different.

I'll probably fire it up for a quick look at it, but a deeper game will have to wait until I finish some others that are commanding my free time. Eldritch is chief among those at the moment.
I would have bought this day one on GOG, only I did that with the Steam version some time ago. I also recently bought the game for a friend in the Parachute Bundle. Though the promised manual for the Steam version never came to be, nor does it seem to include a soundtrack and posters, so I look forward to picking up a DRM-free copy here on GOG during a future sale. I suppose GOG's poor timing isn't a complete loss.

uuuuh eldritch is very nice. i am very inconsistent with my playing. i have currently shadowrun returns, eldritch, wasteland 2, sacred and some more installed.
Excuse me, I need to pinch myself to ensure I'm not dreaming.
