The game has been divided into two episodes, one of them available to download and play right now, and the second planned for the first quarter of 2014. You get them both with your purchase of Broken Sword 5 - The Serpent's Curse: Season Pass, the first one now, the other as soon as it's released. UPDATE:
We apologize for the mix-up with the release of Broken Sword 5. The 20% off promotion should NOT have ended and should've lasted until the 11th of December. We weren't notified about this last-minute change and, thus, we offered the game at full price for these last few hours. We humbly ask for an opportunity to make it up to anyone who bought Broken Sword 5 for $24.99 during today's release. If you bought the game today (December 4th) at full price ($24.99), you will be contacted by our Support department and provided with a $9.99 bonus code. Once again, we apologize for this mix-up and we hope you enjoy the game. :)

afly: Eek! Scratch that, I don't see it listed as a platform here :(
Don't worry, I know that. That's why I'm being facetious.

GOG won't do Linux support because they think distro dissonance is a thing and they won't hire me.

Trilarion: It's stupid but GOG is not really interested in doing something about it. If they would there would be thousands of ways like blocking the accounts from future reviews or putting reviews within the first 24 hours of a release on moderation or displaying unhelpful reviews very small or even more draconian measures.. but they don't do anything about it.
It seems they are not completely uninterested. Some of the "Where is the Mac version?" reviews are gone. Instead we have one that just says "My favorite." now. *sigh*

Good and it's a BS 1+2 vibe the return to 2d has been kind...

Would agree with wodmarach: good and BS 1 or 2 so far.
Liking the game so far but those 3D models... oh my god, they're just simply horrible. What were they thinking making those!? They look creepy and very, very out of place and even though it seems like a good game and something like BS1 that I really got into, the characters just take me right out of the mood everytime they move.

Or maybe the percentage of people buying games on Linux is (for now anyway) rather small.

I completely disagree. I was skeptical of the decision as well, but I think Revolution has handled this technique in a much more classy and well-integrated way than, say, Pendulo has (with no disrespect to the latter).

You have to put their production decisions in the context of what they can reasonably afford. In the context of game budgeting, there were bound to be hard economic decisions to make. This is despite the fact that by Kickstarter standards, they were arguably quite successful. Even twice or three times their KS earnings is not a lot to work with for an established studio.

I think it's easy to let the simple awareness of the fact that they used 3D models get in the way of appreciating the overall aesthetic. After all, you almost certainly weren't judging BS 1 in the same critical sense when you first played that, and presumably you were quite fond of it. At the same time, I think a certain amount of critique is healthy and does contribute to improvements down the line, so I'm not against it.

We're spoiled for information on development in today's world, and especially in the Kickstarter age - I think that can make it easy to get distracted by details that were formerly not as transparently discussed, at the expense of the overall player experience.

Edit: Just to be clear, I realize that what is being mourned here is the use of 3D models *in place of* hand-drawn character animations. I also won't dispute that anyone looking even a little closely would certainly notice that BS5's animations aren't hand-drawn; it's evident that they're 3d models, no matter how well they mesh with the backgrounds.

I do agree that hand-drawn would be lovely, I just think that on balance - with the budget available - it seems like a sensible path they chose, and the art direction is strong enough to overcome the downsides of that choice for the most part.

Game of the year in my honest opinion!

Well I'm just relaying the reasons I've been given by GOG people themselves (except the hiring bit, that's a joke because I'm the wrong person for the job, but there are one or two people in the GOG community that GOG should be hiring for this). And I'm doing it in a dry manner because I don't care all that much. You know how we already did Linux support for GOG?

I'm sure official support takes money and time beyond simply getting installers working. I can't blame them for thinking the reward is outweighed by that investment.

SteamOS might change things, of course.
im waiting for part 2 now...
Well that's odd. Just redeemed my Kickstarter code and had boxes for both Ep 1 and 2 on my shelf with 2 saying "Soon". All well and good, but now Episode 2 has disappeared from my shelf. Should I be worried or was it appearing a bug?
