The Blackwell Epiphany, the fifth supernatural murder and mystery story in Wadjet Eye Games old-school point-and-click series with classic 2D graphics and a chilling story, is available for pre-order on GOG.com. For $14.99 you'll be getting the game as soon as it launches (approximately April 24), and some amazing goodies, including the extended demo available only on GOG.com!

The Blackwell Epiphany sets the atmosphere: a dead man’s soul cries out against the force of a ferocious blizzard. He cries for help. He cries for answers. Then he screams as he is torn apart like damp tissue paper. This wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last. The police are powerless to stop it, so the duty falls to the only ones who can. What force could be so powerful – and so malevolent – that it would destroy the very core of a life in order to get what it wants? Rosa Blackwell and Joey Mallone mean to find out, even if it means risking themselves in the process.

The Blackwell Epiphany comes with some very exciting pre-order exclusive content. For $14.99 You'll be getting an extended demo of the game (available now, only on GOG.com!), a full game soundtrack, video interviews with voice actors Abe Goldfarb (Joey) and Rebecca Whittaker (Rosa) discussing their work on the series, a New York City video tour with series creator Dave Gilbert showing and talking about the real-world locations that inspired the Blackwell games, and virtual invite to the Blackwell Epiphany launch party on the evening of April 24--all of the latter coming soon.
I have just beat the GOG demo and it is alot longer than the standard demo on Wadjet eye's website more than double the length. The cliffhanger is even better than the stand one to

The wallpaper is just the boxart BTW
Dilemma. I've always been an anti-pre-order paladin, yet I'm also a Wadjet Eye worshipper. What to do, what to do...
Hmmm I really don't like to pre-order things, as there are really no real benefits to doing so, and all this exclusive stuff is just ultimately bad for the majority of the gamers.

However I might consider it for this one to support wadjet eye games, as they've made some fantastic games. I'm not quite sure yet though... Will the launch event thing be in the middle of the night for Europeans?

PaterAlf: Loved the other games of the series, so there's no doubt I will buy this one too.

Not so happy that I have to pre-order if I want the soundtrack though.
Indeed at the both opinions.
Oh, so is this the final chapter of the series? I can´t hang anymore to understand the origins of the characters
Another voice added to those that don't appreciate the pre-order exclusive nonsense. I'm actually quite disappointed in Wadjet Eye Games for going down this route.

OlausPetrus: I don't know if it will backfire. It's been industry standard for a long time to offer pre-order goodies and it hasn't really affected to sales after the pre-orders.

snip
If we want this "industry standard" to change, we should make an effort to affect primarily pre-orders, but I guess a good number of people are too happy with getting exclusives that the average Jo won't get afterwards - and that's sad.
Another set of pre-order exclusives? I was close to buying it until I saw it had those. I won't support pre-order exclusives.
Already pre-ordered from WEG, but I didn't realize the soundtrack was an exclusive and will be a pre-order excluive on GOG, too. I pre-ordered because I wanted to support WEG and receive a game that I already know I want to play on release day, not because some bonus content tempted me to buy a product unseen. That sucks, having to read such news about your favorite developer. I hope they were just ill-advised and will reconsider, or at the very least that these were the conditions of the composer and not a marketing trick the Gilberts came up with. They should be above such things, with all the honest support they get.. :/

Ghorpm: No brainer, insta-preorder... as soon as I finish downloading 50GB of raw measurement data that is - I don't like making any transactions when I download something really big ;) And I think I'll get Mr. Bree+ too but I'm not sure yet

deonast: Raw measurement data, now what would that be. Obviously not the digital equivalent of a tape measure. What sort of data, climate, space, oceanographic?
Unprocessed data from lab analytical tool - I'm a physicist and the lab I'm currently working for is on the other side of the globe. That's a mind-blowing thing about technology and the Internet: I can make some serious experiments while lying on a sofa in my apartment. Everything is automated, I can transfer the samples from one tool to another, make measurement on them, further process them, measure again, virtually everything...

Usually I'm not copying any data on my computer but during Easter I may have some issues with Internet connection (I'll be traveling a lot) so I prefer to have something to work with ;) But copying is almost done so Blackwell shall soon be mine :D
I die a little when i see the words "preorder exclusive".
The GOG.com preorder exclusive is the same as the preorder exclusive you get from Wadget Eye direct (except they give you a DRM free copy and Steam-key).

Meaning that the developer wouldn't give MORE goodies to GOG than they would to their own direct preorders, so not sure why the outrage.

I had already preordered mine from Wadget Eye, since I didn't want to miss out on the preorder goodies (and I LOVE the series). Had I known GOG would have it for preorder as well (with most of the goodies, don't care for the Steam key), I probably would have waited.
Next up: HumbleWadjet Eye bundle on the 24th, including Epiphany for $1 minimum, soundtrack included! :D

Just kidding. But it would be outrageously hilarious (or hilariously outrageous). ;)

I don't mind pre-ordering from a company I like and trust (and WEG is such company) if it's something I want to play as soon as possible and I can afford the price. For this game bonus goodies are just, well, bonus goodies. I would pre-order even without them.

We get an awesome extended demo which I just finished :)

Actually the only preorder stuff that slightly interests me here is the behind-the-scenes/making-of material, and I know I'm only ever going to watch that once like pretty much any extra material ever. Funnily enough, wallpapers and avatars are really the only real useful items for me as I actually may end up using them. It's a very rare day indeed when one can catch me listening to a game's soundtrack.... So, yeah, most goodies are completely wasted on me. Heh.

That said, I was going to buy BE full price no matter what, so if the developer feels like throwing a few trinkets my way I won't complain. I wouldn't complain if there wasn't anything else either. *shrug*

I haven't yet touched any of WEG's pre-order demos simply due to the fact that if I start playing I want the full experience from the get-go and not be forced to cut things short. I still find those demos to be rather odd 'bonuses'.

I like a good cliffhanger to think about now and then :)
And for anybody who wants to test the game before buying \ pre-ordering, there is a nice standard demo. I think such practices deserve an encouragement - that's why I don't feel bad for pre-ordering from WEG.
