With Shadow Warrior Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog bring back one of the legendary heroes of the late 1990's and make sure he's in fighting shape to take on the challenges of modern-day gaming without even breaking a sweat. Yes, Lo Wang is back in action with his faithful katana, sharp enough to slice a hair in half and hard enough to cut through rock. This is the new, young, and fresh Lo Wang perfect for the new world of first-person shooters. Expect classic feeling, modern looks, and lots, and lots of badassery and gore!

Pre-order your DRM-free copy of Shadow Warrior today, on GOG.com for $33.99, and you'll receive a special GOG.com-exclusive in-game item, the classic Shadow Warrior katana, as well as Shadow Warrior Classic Complete for free!

Looks like a fun straight up FPS.
On one hand , it looks so far removed from the source material. On the other, it looks like pure dumb fun. I'll probably pre-order this.
If i were a few years younger than this would be an instant buy.
Ahh, the old days of Doom and co. were every minute counts because of game over...ehh i mean
landing the game on the fabled German index.
Now in my old days i dunno.
I've pre-ordered RotT and not played a single minute of the game (in fact its not even installed).
The goodies well i have the old game and a exclusive Katana???
Lets see whats my next paycheck says (and there is still hope for nice new releases right).

trusteft: That's silly. Why not? If one plans on buying the game on release, why not pre order it and just get the discount?

Vitek: I recommend you to watch TB' video linked by Fenixp as well.
He makes good points.

Preorder of something you can get the minute it is released is pointless and you only increases the chance that you will burn yourself with the purchase.
You don't have single feedback on the game and it makes hype and advertisment more important than quality of game itself when people buy before the game is released.
TB is very very positive about this game.Pretty much a recommendation despite it being in beta.
My only reservation is the price :/
I want it, I want to support it getting on since I was bummed that it was slated to be a steam exclusive (form what I heard), but I has no money for it since my wife just went back to school cut down to part time at her job.

Just tell her: "Honey, you don't need extra schooling. My games are just more important!" That should go over swell. =P
Everyone's talking about prices here, well, it seems Steam has it, under its current 15% discount, for $25.

But I don't know, I didn't have a PC during the 90's so I never got into this style of FPS, and I didn't like Hard Reset, so I think I should probably wait.

That must be a regional pricing thing as it comes up $33.99 here, steam and gamersgate for me.
I´d prefer the older version of Lo Wang, but otherwise... I´m gonna buy it :)

Edit: Oh, and by the way: How exactly does that classic Shadow Warrior katana looks?

Yes, I did mean regional pricing, but I forgot to write down that part, Brazil always gets the best deals when it comes to regional pricing for some reason.
I think this seems great, but sadly, I think I'm going to wait for a price drop.
I just pre orded this bad boy, can't wait.

Will I ever get around to finishing the games I've bought from GOG, only time will tell :P

My Wang is ready.
I see a lot of negative comments here about how this isn't like the first or won't be as good as hard reset.

If you're on the fence about pre ordring this game, then I suggest you watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfMjYBLWlik

Total Biscuit's video on the game is what made me want to pre order it. I have high hopes for it and the fact that I can get it on GOG is great. I'm very happy to see more good looking high budget games come to GOG.

People have been upset that it's a reimagining. But for chrissakes it's not like they're reimagining Shakespeare here, they are dredging up an obscure IP and giving it new life. I was sold the day I heard Flying Wild Hog was at the helm. This type of game is their specialty.
