So, how was your Longest Day of Gaming? We hope it was just fantastic. Ours was cut a bit short by a raging summer thunderstorm. Speaking of raging things--we continue our raging daily bundles with two new explosive offers! For all RPG fans we've prepared a bundle containing the top recent indie role-playing games. In Indie RPG Invasion bundle you'll find titles such as Divinity 2, Legend of Grimrock, and Torchlight. What's that? You just got a free copy of Torchlight in some crazy giveaway? No problem, you'll just pay less than the usual $19.95 for the whole bundle!

In our Fair and Square Selection bundle you'll find the top classic Square Enix titles like Thief 1,2, and 3, Deus Ex 1 and 2, and the jRPG like awesome Sci-Fi adventure Anachronox. You'll also get the chance to see for yourself what is up with Daikatana, and find out if John Romero will actually succeed in--*cough,cough*--forcing you into submission.

Have fun, stay cool, and enjoy our #NoDRM Summer Sale!
Its good for gog, they get to offer bundles to the general public and still get the money from stingy bastards who are willing to go through private trading deals. A sale is a sale is a sale.
How is Divinity 2? Especially combat wise.

SpiderFighter: [...], and then...THIS...happened. Now I'm sitting at 206, and I'm too broke to do the contest anyway. :P

Just bought a bunch of SSI games at Amazon too for $13. I think I need therapy.

Agent_Tau: Awww, indeed.
But I subscribed to GOG less than 4 months ago, so I guess I need therapy harder than you! :P
I may have been subscribed to GOG for over 2 and half years now, but I have almost 450 games. Way more games than I'll ever complete, I think I have a GOG buying addiction!
I definitely wasn't going to buy the game for %50 off, and I wasn't going to buy the rest of the pack when I owned 2 out of the remaining 3 games. So it actually helped gog.

Bloodygoodgames: Quick recommendation for a game I picked up earlier in the sale and didn't expect to be as good as it is -- Imperialism 2.

http://www.gog.com/gamecard/imperialism_2_the_age_of_exploration

It's a grand strategy that came out at least a year before the first Paradox grand strategy (I'd say definitely some 'copying' going on there on Paradox's part :), and it's equally as good as many of the Paradox games I've played.

I grabbed it as I don't intend to buy anymore Paradox games as they are now Steam-only, and I'm very happy I did. Highly recommended if you like a game in which you really have to think.

EDIT: and no, it hasn't been in any bundles but, at only $2.99 for what looks like hundreds of hours of game play, it's still an excellent deal. There's also a Let's Play Imperialism 2 series of videos by a German guy on YouTube that are excellent -

Got both Imperialism games on my wishlist, waiting for a promo, if there isn't anything coming, I'll just buy them before the Summer Sale ends :)

I have also used Ghorpm's offer and thank him for it. I have also done the same for someone else.

Morals be damned. I'm motivated by opportunity. Ghorpm's analogy of "grouping together for a mass discount at a shop" is on the button. I'm trying to get the best price on a sale blowout.

GOG sneaking in a few bad games in their bundles (IMO) or making some bundles a little too big (IMO) and then setting an ALL OR NOTHING choice is kinda opportunistic as well. Hey, I'm not trying to put them down, but they are a shop, not a sainthood.

Let's look at it from a more pragmatic point of view.

Many games I buy, because I "appreciate" them, but I'm in no rush to play them. They are often not worth the money to me even at -50%. And I'm willing to wait indefinitely for a deeper discount. If it never comes it results, in a no win situation. Sometimes even worse, another game distro makes a deep enough discount so that I end up buying elsewhere (I prefer no DRM, but I can live with minimal like Steam only).

With Ghorpm's help I've spent an extra $15 on GOG today, instead of later or not at all (see above).

Lastly, if GOG says this is a no no. I'll stop immediately, it is not my intention to break their rules. In the meantime however, heyyo!

I think we need our own support group. Instead of thinking "at least I'm not THAT guy" I thought, "I WISH I were that guy!!" :D

Ghorpm: I asked myself the same question before I started doing so. And here is my conclusion: Read those posts. Many people claim that they wouldn't buy the game without a higher discount and have no interest in buying the whole bundle. So in my opinion the situation is different from what you described. It's not: GOG should earn 10$ but because of the trading they got only 5$. I think in majority of cases it's rather: GOG wouldn't get anything and because of a trade they got 5$.
I actually think what you and a few others are doing to help people save money has one major benefit to GOG. It helps build a friendlier community. GOG has the absolute best community I've ever seen for an online store, and probably better than most other online communities of any kind. They way GOG has operated over the years makes me think they are smart enough to see that too.

Plus GOG did get two sales from me because of your help, and those two purchases I would have not made at 50% off or 75% for an entire bundle I wouldn't want. Adventure games are not my usual gaming genre, so a great price was needed.

We must first admit that we have a problem before we can get help, and I refuse to admit I need help. I'm at 240+, and I've been a member since about two weeks since GOG launched in beta.

Being a GOG collector has actually saved me space and money. I no longer feel the need to collect statues, figures, RPGs, and several other collectibles.

Perfectly put.

Exactly this. I've tossed hundreds of boxes of clutter away since going digital and, while I do miss the physical copies, I'm very glad they're not taking up real space any more.

Reever: Got both Imperialism games on my wishlist, waiting for a promo, if there isn't anything coming, I'll just buy them before the Summer Sale ends :)
You're German. You'll love them :)

I have a philosophy that says Germans are some of the best players in the world of grand strategy games. I think that's because you're brought up to be incredibly methodical and efficient and seem to take the time to think things through, while many of the rest of us just charge in and do it :)

If I'm ever looking for a Let's Play for a strategy game I'm playing, invariably the best ones I find or always done either by a German or by someone like Quill18, a Canadian grand strategy player who really knows his stuff.
gave in and got the Fair and Square bundle :) thanks gog.... and thats all I'm getting this month... I mean it gog I mean it!

I'm as much German as you are Thai ;D (seriously hope thought I remember things correctly and this doesn't backfire on me :P).
I'm from the same country as Licurg ;) And as far as strategy goes, well, it's too general, I think :)

Ghorpm: So it's very difficult to tell whether I'm doing some harm or benefit. It may turn out it's just the same. I think nobody will ever know whether it's good or bad for GOG.
If it hurt GOG, they'd have removed the option. "If you want the big discount on games you don't own, buy those games for yourself. If you already own everything and want the big discount, buy the whole bundle."
Are posts being deleted here? I thought I posted a comment here as others did about a concern whether the rest of the sale would have any new deals over yesterday.

Edit: no, they're not, it's just a strange forum system where you only see one page of the posts unless you click the 'forums' button.
