Today we’re adding another classic FPS to our ever-growing catalog, ArmA: Gold Edition, for the paltry price point of $9.99. This version of the game includes the original ArmA: Armed Assault and its expansion Queen’s Gambit.

Bohemia Interactive worked hard on delivering a sequel to their award winning franchise, taking years to release ArmA: Gold Edition. This military simulator takes place on a fictional Atlantic island of Sahrani, divided into two countries: the communist dictatorship in the north and the democratic kingdom in the south. When US forces stationed there leave the southern country for training, the northern neighbour attacks. You are one of the US soldiers that hasn’t left the island yet, so you join the local militias and fight the aggressive regime!

The terrain featured in the campaign measures up to 400 square kilometers, and is beautifully rendered by the Real Virtuality 2 engine. All of the weapons and vehicle models are made in great detail, but apart from looking real they behave like the real ones too. Sighting, weapon ballistics, damage, recoil, and reloading are some of the things that were designed to be as real as they can get. The main campaign offers over 20 missions with non-linear scenarios and on top of that the Queen’s Gambit adds two more campaigns, one connected with the main campaign, the other one features a group of mercenaries that are all about stealth and efficiency. If you manage to accomplish all three campaigns, and you still haven’t got enough of ArmA, you can create your own missions with the built-in editor. If you aren’t the mission building type yourself, you can still use the editor to load up and play one of the hundreds mods that are already made by the fans!

ArmA: Gold Edition is DRM-Free as always and can be yours for only $9.99.
Wishlist first. Hope there will be discount soon :)

Kunovski: hey, gog team members! stop messing around and get back to your cells! games need to be released! MOVE IT!
YEAH! And this time make it at least 10 years older one.
Not interested in this one. GOG, people do notice when you don't release games every Tuesday and Thursday. It did happen recently, just saying.
I pitched in response to the recent Questionnaire switching to 3 releases a week. Mon/Wed/Fri. That way we would get games more quickly, and it would accelerate GOGs ability to add games without flooding the market, or damaging the impact of a release.

It feels achingly slow at two releases a week...

three releases a week would be awesome, also think its better for gog to grow faster.

""johkra: The forum is called ArmA-*Series*, btw. I wonder what we will see next..."
Hmm, now that you mention it, Arma is sold for 8-10 dollars on BIS' own service ... the price tag would fit right here."

^ I knew it! :)
Two releases a week are fine. They need to fix and test them but also get some extra stuff. Sometimes ago I had the feeling they had a supplies problem, which seems with ea and the coming new publishers been solved.

On the other hand, they searching for another pr-guy, which let me ask myself the question what's the ratio between pr and technician? My guess is 1:1... With some more technicians a third well done release would be possible.

Edit: About the release: Don't really know the series, but I don't prefer realistic shooters. But let me do a better research when the games are on sale.

GingeR13: sadly - no. not really.

but i'm waiting for more EA classics and basicly - more more more :]
i miss the times when we had few releases per day.

we have a lot of ea/atari/activision gogs to release but also i'm waiting for more new publishers here. so few releases per release day would be more than nice.

i'm not complaining - i just want ... more more more! just as before.

Cook: The days when we released more than one game the same day are long gone now (I think it was in the closed beta days, or maybe the early open beta). And to be fair we usually released 2 games a week, just released the same day, and now we're releasing 2 games a week but on Tuesdays and Thursdays :)

Patience my young jedi, we'll get more games for you :)
wow - my post get some serious BLUE power attention ;)

but im' not scared - i can do longer combos. at least - in Arkham City ;) [i wonder who has license for Batman The Movie and other better-than-worse dark knight games]

long story short - i understand the 'basicly 2 games a week' message.

it's just.... there are So Many Good Old Games out there. and so little time for them [in 2-a-week model]

Marketing departments are small at any company that's not, well, a marketing firm. You've seen the entire department post in this thread; there are a lot more than three testers. ;)
