With every Divinity: Dragon Commander pre-order--strategy masterpiece Master of Magic for free!

[url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/divinity_dragon_commander]Divinity: Dragon Commander, is the upcoming innovative fantasy RTS, available for pre-order on GOG.com. Larian Studios, the developer of that title, regretfully informs, that the game's release will be delayed. Originally scheduled for July the 2nd 2013, it is now expected to arrive early in August. Our friends at Larian decided to take an extra month to ensure this ambitious and complex title meets the high standards you grew to expect from their games.

GOG.com and Larian Studios are sorry that you won't get the game in time you expected. We would like to make up for the delay and sweeten the deal a bit. To satisfy your thirst for multi-layered strategic gameplay, we would like to offer you a complimentary copy of Master of Magic one of the beloved strategy classics, with every pre-order. Whether you already pre-ordered or will do so in the future, you'll receive an e-mail from us, containing a giftable Master of Magic code that you can redeem yourself or pass on to a friend.

We hope that Master of Magic, with its legendary robust and complex gameplay, helps you through to August, when we expect Larian's RTS epic to land safely on your shelf. If you haven't yet pre-ordered Divinity: Dragon Commander on GOG.com you just got another reason to do so!

Once again, sorry for any inconvenience this delay might have caused you.
I already have it since I backed $150 on Original Sin. Just waiting for them to email me the GOG key. ;)
When Divinity: Original Sin was on kickstarter, i already went for a tier, that gives me both Dragon Commander and Divinity: Original Sin. When i hadn't done that, getting Divinity: Dragon Commander now on GOG would be an absolute no-brainer for me. First of all, the way Steam likes to price things, the game is going to be a bit cheaper for european customers on GOG. Throw in a small discount for preordering AND an all-time classic strategy game, and at least European gamers should flock to the offer as far as i'm concerned.

Hoo doggie, that's a lot of simoleons.

Sounds worse than pre-ordering, though.
While I love Divinity 2... I think the dragon controlling portions of the game are the weakest and least fun. I understand the need for more than one market, but I'm disappointed with the next 2 Larian games being a jet-packed dragon, and a turn based game which sort of changes the genre of the game to some extents within the same series. :(

I also thought the bonus was a bit odd... but its still a bonus to some ;)
Heh
"Dragon Commander pre-order--strategy masterpiece Master of Magic for free!"
makes a better headline than
"Dragon Commander release delayed!"
Doesn't it? Still, more than you'd get from other sites, well done GOG!
I'm glad Larian is focused on quality. However, I'm still not a fan of pre-ordering, especially at that price. The game might ultimately be worth $45, but I prefer the good old games and 5.99/9.99 price brackets.

Hopefully we'll see a good old game release tomorrow (fulfilling TET's hint).

The minimum you had to pledge to get DC was $65, either on a limited tier (which included some other stuff too, like the soundtrack) or by pledging at least $25 + a $40 add-on. (I did the former.)
If I'm going to get Dragon Commander gog key from kickstarter, will I get master of magic too? Or do I have to pre-order it on gog directly?

No, sorry. You'll have to preorder directly on GOG.

Originally I backed $95 for the CE boxed set of Divinity Original Sin but they changed the tiers so that the $150 one came with a few more goodies together with the CE box and also DC, so I jumped on it. And well D:OS had the most to show for any KS thus far, in fact their KS is only to make the game better since it's already funded, Larian folks are awesome, their videos great to watch, I loved Divine Divinity and Divinity 2 and there is a confirmed GOG option for both DOS and DC, so yeah those are the main reasons.

As for MoM, I insta-bought it here on GOG when it arrived, so no biggie for me. ;)

Dragon Commander evolved from efforts after the release of DKS to improve the dragon combat.

JinseiNGC224: Wouldn't it have made better sense to bundle Divine Divinity with Dragon Commander? Same developer, same price as Master of Magic ($5.99), same franchise, even if a whole different game...

I already own Master of Magic anyway :(
Sort of makes sense that they didn't. Not to say that the userbase hasn't expanded since the Witcher 2's release (I have no doubt that it has), but pre-orders for Witcher 2 on GOG got a pick between Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Gothic 2 Gold, Realms of Arkania 1 + 2, and Realms of Arkania 3. That's actually how I got Divine Divinity in the first place.

Its good that they take their time and focus on quality.
Still, till i can't read some reviews of the game i wouldn't buy it. I enjoyed the last one, but the part with the dragon was the weakest.
So till i am not sure how this one works i'll wait.

It's cool that Witcher 2 got a choice. I don't have any of those, except for Gothic 2. Me thinks the summer sale will leave my wallet blank. And if those aren't on sale (the Divnity's mainly), I'll buy them at regular price at that point.

muttly13: I have heard nothing good about this game to date. Seemed to be lambasted, am I wrong here? It certainly looks pretty cool but much of the technical aspects to the game were underwhelming. Well, thats what I heard! Someone enlighten me, this delay only seems to reinforce the idea its already trouble.

Magnitus: I've always found it a wise course of action to withhold judgment until empirical evidence is at hand.

Anything said before either you or a critical mass of users have tried out the game are mere speculations and should be treated as such.
Thank you, personal philosophy noted. I am not sentencing someone to death, I am asking if anyone has heard different than I.

Flight mechanic seemed to be especially problematic. Anyone heard elsewise?
