WinCDEmu is good and totally free but have it's limitation. Especially regarding cuesheet.

mrtophat101: So weird this is not a standard feature in Windows. =/

Lone3wolf: Not really all that strange. They're protecting themselves against lawsuits for infringement...

What the user installs after that is down to the user ;)
It is standard in Mac Os. I don't really understand why anyone would sue them.

Isn't it a kind of a gun seller situation? They don't get sued when someone kills using a gun bought at their store.

I have no idea. I'm not really knowledgable in this.

korell: And this doesn't have issues with unsigned drivers?
What do you mean exactly?

Anyways, in 8 you just double click the ISO and open it as a regular folder. It would get attached / mounted. Then just right click -> eject to detach it.
Crap, didn't know that about Daemon Tools - been using it for over a decade.
Any more concrete info on that?
Also, I want something that is very lightweight. DT has been perfect for that thus far. I tried Alcohol 52% once and it seemed to have a lot of stuff that I didn't really want.

Virtual CloneDrive. Can't get more lighter than that.

Cheers. Will try after next format.

64-bit Windows enforces the disabling of unsigned drivers as a security measure (in 32-bit it is an option to disable them, but 64-bit enforces it). As such, if an application provides third-party drivers then 64-bit Windows will not allow them to be used unless they have been digitally signed.

So, I guess the question is, is the application rated to work on 64-bit Windows? If it is then any drivers it has should be signed.

It works perfectly on all x64 systems I've installed it on.

Excellent. I think I'll give it a go then. Thanks for the info. :)

I could disable the options of sending the information of isos I mount to deamon tools. And just to be sure I blocked it in my firewall, but it seems that disabling worked and that the program did not try to send anything.
Stopped using Daemon Tools long ago, now I only use Virtual CloneDrive for my ISOs, under Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. No problems thus far, and it's freeware.

For example, this article says it all. I used Daemon tools for many years, too.

It stores the info only lately, old versions didn't do that.
