My goal has been to make Driftmoon a game that'll leave you smiling.--Anne Mönkkönen, co-creator.

Driftmoon, a charming and detailed indie role-playing adventure, complete with a robust scenario editor giving it great modding capability , is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's only $7.49 for the next 24 hours!

Here's a thing about indie developers. They're not interested in taking over your living room, delivering all-in-one multimedia experiences to you, or getting you excited about cable TV shows. No, they're in the business of making games. Games that sometimes tell fascinating stories, deliver satisfying challenge, and are fun to play. That's about it, and there's no real need for anything more. Ville Mönkkönen has been making and releasing interesting PC games for well over a decade now. Driftmoon, made in collaboration with his wife Anne, is his most elaborate work up to date, and with its amazing fairytale-like story, solid gameplay, and remarkable atmosphere, it's safe to call it his masterpiece. It has everything that makes people love PC role-playing and adventure games, so if you missed it launch, make sure to give it a go today.

Driftmoon is a story-driven RPG with lots of colorful characters, original ideas, beautiful gameworld, and involving writing. It's quite impressive how every aspect of the game was lovingly developed and polished. You can see great involvement of the developers affecting every little detail of the fantastic experience you are being presented here. Indeed, this game is going to leave you smiling! It will also allow you to get creative with its elaborate scenario editor, so you can expect additional adventures to spawn across the games community.

If you miss that sense of wonder you got as a kid playing games, if you're looking for a colorful and unique world to explore, if you like to be told amazing fairytales, get Driftmoon for only $7.49 on GOG.com! The offer lasts until Thursday, May 23, at 9:59AM GMT.

JogsterXL: Excellent Indie Gem Promo!
Concur. I find this game pays attention to detail and also has charm/heart.

I see what you did there.

It wasn't exactly subtle. :-)

I got my Xbox 360 as a 30th birthday gift from my wife, and ever since I was a great fan of that console (even though I always was, and still am a PC gamer). Yesterday's reveal left me a bit... upset, to say the least, so I couldn't help but to throw a punch or two here and there today.

Driftmoon is the total opposite of corporate-driven game development and "vision" of how electronic entertainment should look like that are being devised by market researchers in spreadsheets, based on statistics. If you got the chance to play it already or are planning to grab it off today's promo, you'll see exactly what I mean. This game is full of two people's true love for classic PC gaming, storytelling, game-making, and--that's evident--each other. I can't help but to admire Mönkkönens for who they are, how they are, and what they do. All this wonder that is Driftmoon and the ideals behind it, are so far, far away from the gaming business giants' ways, that I just had to point it out, today of all days.

Damn, I'm getting personal with you all again, and you'll probably think I'm just trying to sell you on this charming and detailed indie role-playing adventure, complete with a robust scenario editor giving it great modding capability, that is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's only $7.49 for the next 24 hours! ;-)
This game looks charming and I almost bought it when it was first released. And now... I guess I am going to almost buy it again. Sorry, Driftmoon. One day we shall have fun together, but now is not really a good time for me.

There is a nice demo out there if you are dying of curiosity. Warning, the demo got me to buy the game so if you are hurting for coin I wouldn't check it out.

Yeah! I love Xbox 360, I think it's a great console. But as you said, Xbox One seems not to be about games, and that's a shame (a really big shame!) since I supported Xbox 360 and now it looks like it's not a gaming console anymore.

Although Driftmoon is on my wishlist, there is a 50% Sale promo and your story convinced me even more, I still have an empty PayPal account (I'm working on it!) so I can't get it this time. If I get some money on another sale, I may just get it.

Driftmoon.....
This was on my wishlist & I enjoyed the demo, so I'm looking forward to playing the full version. Would be nice if the GOG version included more extras than just the soundtrack sample, though. Perhaps GOG will add more extras later?

ShadowWulfe: Looks like I'll be picking this up. Until I can fix my feud with Eschalon I might need something to tide me over.
What is up with Eschalon ShadowWulfe? I am enjoying that game more than any in the last 5 years or so, can't wait to get back to it tonight :)
I would have enough for the game, but it would be probably my only purchase in quite some time, should I go for it? Or wait for later?

Since the offer ends in the next 40 min at 12:59 EEST, you better make up your mind fast. I wound up buying it myself (even though was on the fence) after watching this review on Youtube of the game.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7Vr9GXt1Cs After that I was like, oh well, why not? One more for the backlog. (Although I think I am putting this one at the front of the queue)
