I played too much RPG, now I want some action. Can you recommend me some good shooters?

Don't recommend me some game that my PC can't run (see attached image):

Unreal Tournament maybe? :)
Duke 3D, baby.
Beyond Good & Evil comes to mind as an action game, but not a shooter. I can run that on my netbook, so you should have no problems.

Painkiller and Serious Sam are good if you're just looking for some mindless shooting

Unreal Tournament is just fun. Even playing against the bots isn't too bad.
Blood 2 could be great for a mindless shooter too, I think.
FPS:
Serious Sam 1st & 2nd
Unreal Tournament
Blood
Shogo

Other:
Raptor
Incoming

Serious Sam is very much a pure shooter in first person. Unreal Tournament is still being played online and should run nicely on your computer. Blood is very old school but you've gotta love... well, everything about it really. Redneck Rampage brings with it a healthy dose of moonsh- uh, humour. Yeah, that's it.

I had a lot of fun playing Half Life 2: Deathmatch several years ago. So much fun, in fact, that I never played the campaign until The Orange Box came out. I'm not sure if that runs on your system, but Half Life (the first) definitely would, as would UT:GOTY, my first love of shooters.
There's a demo here for Half Life 2, if he wants to try it.
But yes, the first Half Life is a must play !

Unfortunately, the GoG version doesn't run very well ATM. I'd also add painkiller black and Postal 2 to that list.

Postal 2 is a surprisingly good game and until Duke Nukem if ever arrives the closest thing there is to a sequel, or at least it carries along the irreverence, fun and humor that Duke Nukem 3D embodied.
Gonna throw one out that no one has mentioned yet. PAINKILLER! I love that game.

I agree wholeheartedly - Postal 2 is the ultimate in gratuitous, tasteless violence, and even though I've completed it, I still find it fun to start it up and set people on fire.
Chasing somebody down and pissing on them until he vomits, then taser him until he curls up in a fetal position and wets himself. Douse him in gasoline, throw a match on him, and watch him burn. Then to put him out of his misery, shoot his head cleanly off with a shotgun (using a kitten as a silencer, of course).

Sounds completely sick, demented, and tasteless beyond words, but man is it fun when you're playing it and seeing the whole thing go down.

Ho, that's good to know then. I was wondering if I'll rebuy it or not for myself too.

About Postal 2, I find it hard to advise it to someone. It's a game like no other, and it goes far beyond Duke Nukem about the irreverence and humour. I love it, but I understand that some people can't stand it.

Maybe could we add Kingpin ? I never done it, but with all the things I read about it, that's one of my next buy on GoG after all my RPG crazyness I think
How much big is the difference in performance of 2.00 GHz processor to 2.4 GHz? My PC don't meets recomended specs of Painkiller or Postal 2.

The recommended specs for a lot of GOGs seem a bit off.

I think your system should be able to handle both of them. Painkiller doesn't require much (PIII 1.5Ghz, 512MB RAM - Wikipedia), and Postal 2's system requirements are even lower (P3 733Mhz, 128MB RAM - Wikipedia).

I suspect that the requirements are a bit off. Postal 2 according to the official specs requires a 733mhz processor with 128mb of ram and a GeForce2 class graphics card.

The official stats aren't usually particularly accurate, but if you've got double the recommendations, you shouldn't have any trouble. Unless there's something non-obvious going on.

EDIT: And if you get a chance the movie based on the game is worth seeing. Yes, despite Uwe Bolle directing it and Dave Foley being completely naked at one point.
