Birthday fun and gifts (for you!)
GOG.com 5th birthday celebration continues, and we came up with some fun activities essential to every nerd party in the universe. Namely, we want to play some trivia with you! There will be prizes, of course, because there have to be gifts in a birthday celebration. Since it is our party, you get to keep the gifts! We wouldn't have it any other way. But, just to make it more fun, you'll have to put some effort into getting them. For the next couple of days (let's say: until Sunday), we'll post a daily activity for you. A quiz, a puzzle, some trivia--you know: fun stuff. Each day you'll get a chance to prove your gaming knowledge and familiarity with GOG.com for a chance to get some free games. Our activity of choice today: word search!

UPDATE:
We got word from our support, that some users aren't sure where they should send the answers. Let's pretend that finding the e-mail address on the picture below is a little warm-up exercise before the actual word search. If you can't handle that task, there's probably not much point in wasting your time looking for the 40 titles. And one more thing: we didn't notice it ourselves, but there's actually 41 hidden titles in the picture (apart from the highlighted "FEZ"). That's because one of the longer ones contains another one, shorter. Still--we don't expect more than 40, and that gives you a bit of an advantage.

GOG.com Birthday Word Search

You've got time until Thursday, September 26, at 14:59PM GMT. That's 24 hours. Have fun! :-)

DreadMoth: Hmm, I sent my final list / solution off sometime around when you posted that you'd sent yours (according to Gmail, I sent it at 3:54 AM GMT+10, the forum says you made that post 23 hours ago...).

Guess I must have made myself ineligible (sent more than one email due to FEZ and ArmA confusion) or stuffed up the email somehow (or, maybe you were one of the last 40 and my email sent after yours?).
After a while the forum times are rounded. I sent my email to GOG at 19:36:25 UK time (GMT+1 at the moment).

I sent all my answers in using block capitals (and the image), but I did add punctuation (e.g. BALDUR'S GATE).

This was so much fun. Nice GOG. I love this kind of challenge. I can't do lyrics or videos.
More like this in the future, please GOG.

It was easy after I found the right way to do it. Before that I was doing this just by looking at it on my small phone display. My eyes hurt and tired. I spent too many hours wasted and I didn't get enough sleeptime.

I mailed my answer in the last hour before deadline. I hope it's sent successfully, no mistake. Agree, confirmation message would be nice, GOG.

I didn't finish it fast enough but I'm glad I could find all the titles. I made it. I thought it was hard. Don't mind if I only win the $6, but I must win for the hard work, GOG. :P

I submitted 40 titles plus the example FEZ. I've found FTL but didn't put it in my submitted list because I was in doubt if it was correct. Because of abbreviation thing mentioned here previously. Hope it's OK. I can prove though if I did found FTL. I also was in doubt if it's THE WITCHER or WITCHER. I hope too spacing doesn't matter.

Thanks, GOG.

Then I guess GOG didn't consider mine (wrong subject)..
I sent at 15:21 (GMT-3)

or that, or gmail screwed me. ;p

Wrong subject may well have been the cause. They did say to use email subject: SEARCH
Guessing some automation or filter was in place.

Yeah... I felt really, really stupid after I found my mistake.
All the time that I lost...

well, guess it happens. ;p

This further complicates things, as I sent mine a full 10 minutes before then (my time zone is US Eastern).

03:54 GMT+10 = 17:54 GMT
19:36 GMT+1 = 18:36 GMT

If that's correct, I must have invalidated my entry by sending multiple emails and/or having typos in the game titles (assuming GOG actually got the email in the first place).

EDIT: Also possible that Gmail formatting did something weird like making the subject into something like "Re: SEARCH" on the email with the correct solution (which I sent in both text and image formats), or adding quotes from the earlier ones. Guess I should use a different email client next time...

The only game I missed was PID. I did struggle with finding Might & Magic and Theme Hospital. I was positive I looked all over the wordsearch for them but didnt find them until right near the end when I tried a different tactic.
DLC - this game can be found as well, but it is not listed
Woop, got the mail, thank you GOG :D

Now picking will be difficult... But that's a nice problem to have.
So what's with the draw?
Damn.

I sent it in twice because I hadn't read the comments about Fez not counting.

I guess that invalidated my response.

I know I got all of them right.

GOG.com: 40. Zeus
THAT's the one I was missing! I even found it, but dismissed it, because I read it as Suez. I even looked in the catalogue to see if an obscure indie game about building shipping channels should have found its way onto GOG without my noticing it. It never occurred to me that it was also a name when read in the other direction.

Zen was one I thought could have been an indie title, but turned out naught. There were couple of other words as well.
Hmph.
Same as someone else I found all of them but send email with wrong subject. Kua
