So Telika you introduce/refer to the "swaying" notion in your post #8 as well as some made up race called black smurfs. I then engage you in a dialogue/question to find out some facts.


Never an answer regarding the smurfs comment and thus far only mud slinging regarding recruitment.

I referred to the recurrent "sway" notion of the OP, I spoke of black smurf syndrome, as, at that point I hadn't even googled the technically correct mafiagame terminology ("cult", "cultist" and "convert" - which you used). I don't think anyone assumed that there actually were smurfs in the game (the setting isn't about existing comic book creatures), and Flashheart has then re-used the smurf analogy for the cultists.

Through whatever thought process (either assuming that it was univocal flavor knowledge, or adding up the OP's "sway" and my "black smurfs"), you aknowledged this possibility of "recruiting members from other races". You then dismissed it entirely, when discussing, for instance, mafia numbers and infiltrations. And came back to it later, as if it was some new possibility to take in consideration.

What did I not get ?

Can you explain me what YOLO SWAG slip is supposed to be? I am afraid I don't understand it. :-/

I think I am against race claim now. As per usual, if majority wants it, I will go with it.
Mafia will learn it at night if htey are in all or in all but one groups which they should be. So we can very well do it after that. If they can't talk now, they can't share it yet and can't plan ahead. Or maybe it would be better if everyone learns it faster? Not really sure. Or maybe it's not that important and I worry too much.
If you think there is cult, it means not every (or most) races is infiltrated, so I don't know why we should tell them sooner than it is necessary.

Sadly, I agree with much of what Vitek is saying.
If we're all infiltrated then it might be pointless to keep our races a secret down the line, but for now there's no real benefit to town learning what race everyone is. Unless we believe that one race is pure evil and we don't want to give them the chance to conspire and make up a plausible story. But I don't get anything like that from the OP.
I still don't know what flub was trying to do/say and his changing the topic to bowls of dicks didn't help.

I have nothing new to add at this point (unless someone has a question), I've already had my say about revealing our races and about cultists. I am reading carefully what everyone has to say though.

Skeleton nose hasn't done a bad thing in his life. Blenderface on the other hand...

Seriously, however, I haven't much to add at this point. I'd be fine with claiming at the moment, although I don't know how useful such information would be at this stage in the game.

Other than that, flubbucket seems to be acting a little more silly/crazy than he 'normally' is. I have a suspicion that he's a bit too eager to be lynched on the first day.

Sorry, daughter's fifth birthday was Wednesday and been preparing for today's room full of screaming kids (known as a "party" in some parts of the world). Thankfully, all that's now over with and normal service can resume. :)

One thing that completely slipped my mind was that Mafia dudes know their friends, so it doesn't matter even if we try to hide our races- we are the "other", and marked for a beat down, regardless.

That's why, I don't see a problem with race claim, cuz at the very least some stuff about "playing after you're dead" will be cleared up.

I know for a fact that there's some funny business in my house, like maybe people claiming to be someone they're not. If we race claim, then that would help clear things up.

I think he was at one point assuming that not every faction has been infiltrated. But I don't think this matters- if this is a recruiting game, then they will have someone everywhere before the game is done; unless we lynch Papa Cultist on the 1st Day.

And if this is a standard game, then again we are all marked as "other" as far as the scum is concerned. Someone please let me know if I am wrong.

As for the Bowl o' Dicks, I thought he was talking about some specialty cereal he might like. Personally, I am partial to Titty Sprinkles.

I was taken that Flubb appeared, pretty much out of the blue, to ask a sudden question of 4 'newer' players - in this post.

It was pointed out that there may be other reasons , but it just struck me that he was trying to set one of the newbies up. Its all a bit WIFOM, because it could be argued that its good town play, picking on a newer player in the hope that if one of them were Mafia, it would be easier to force a slip.

It just struck me as odd at the time, his choice of people to ask. On day one, we have very little to go on...

I have stated I have no knowledge of cults or recruiting or any some such nonsense. I have asked questions and poked around based on the opening story. That's all.
