That's right! For a *mere* 25 dorra, you too can get a flying horse....that was probably created in 2 minutes and made as much money in 12 hours or so as there is GDP in several small countries....
This is what this "steed" looks like.

My friends that play WoW bought this. I shunned them. I guess Blizzard is reaping the rewards of the stupid tax now.

Did they wave their e-peens at you in a threatening manner?? :D

They were reluctant to admit it at first, due to what I'm guessing is a faint glimmer of shame about their foolish actions. I then proceeded to mock them for buying My Little Pony items in WoW. They didn't have time to bust out their e-peens.
I'm curious as to how many they sold in the first day -- from just the anecdotal queue numbers I'd say anywhere from 500,000 to a million. WoW is still a solid game if you can get a good group of friends to play it with and do so in moderation but I still get a laugh at how some people over defend Blizzard saying they'll never sell gear. It is as if they don't understand its still a company that will eventually do anything with the right cost/benefit analysis.
It would be a safe bet that this was Bobby's idea.

I have seen pictures that showed a 5 HOUR wait time AND AND (!!!!!) you were allowed 15 minutes to make your purchase....
This is like selling crack to drug addicts. And i'm not kidding. For some people, it is.
* 140,000 purchasers = .5 Million... "hard"-earned monnies...
The real source of hilarity is that, for something that's supposed to make the people who bought it feel special and unique, you're probably going to see dozens, if not hundreds, of other players riding the exact same steed during any given play session.

Well damn, Taczillabr...didn't see that in the other thread :D.
Sounds like the rate at which suckers are born has increased dramatically since P.T. Barnum commented on it.
Who didn't see this coming.
They experimented during Blizzcon last year when you would receive a unique in-game pet if you forked out $30 for the right to stream the whole event.
Judging by the sheer number of Murky Murloc Marines observed afterwards, it was a ... modest success.
The only difference between Activision and Blizzard is that Blizzard generally has more talented (but lazier) staff.

Indeed. But then it's not just the birth rate, but also the amount of money these suckers now have.

Wow... You can buy Starcraft anthology for less than this horse. You can buy four GOGs and keep an extra dollar. I figure the horse seemed so expensive that people thought they'd be "one of the few" who'd (be stupid enough to) get them.

Proof that brains don't make you rich.
