Well, whatever it is, it's on your end. I'm on FF13 as well, and have no problems. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :-/

Google provides couple of suggestions:
- Arial font is somehow corrupted and it requires redownloading (also http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Some%20text%20shows%20up%20bold%20after%20upgrade);
- running FFox in Windows XP compatibility mode;
- changing value of gfx.direct2d.disabled in about:config from false to true.

I have no idea if any of these will help, but it's worth a shot I think. Good luck.
Maybe something weird going on in the settings? My Firefox is in Finnish, but there's that place "Settings - Settings - Content - Additional Content" or something similar where the default fonts are. Maybe yours is a bold font for some reason. Even if it isn't, you could try changing it and unchecking the "let sites use their own fonts" box just for testing purposes.
just used this http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Some%20text%20shows%20up%20bold%20after%20upgrade

i had no missing fonts or wrong named ones and i'm on default settings

My best guess. How the default font got changed is beyond me.
Just to make sure, press [CONTROL]+[0] to reset a possible activated zoom while browsing.

wish i saw that sooner, had to do a system restore, issue fixed, as for the causes i installed 6 games last night and this morning which could have caused it they are

Battle Realms Gold *************** Reinstalled, its not this
Heroes of might and magic 6 *************** Reinstalled, its not this
World in Conflict Gold *************** Reinstalled, its not this
Age of Mythology Gold
Age of Empires Gold
Age of Empires 2 Gold (i believe the expansion conquerors caused)

Age of Empires 1 Gold Edition is the cause, knowing this, is there any fix?

I'd take a wild guess – I suspect AoE is messing with your fonts, being a Microsoft game and all. Try to backup your fonts folder (C:\Windows\Fonts by default) before installation and copy it back afterwards.

just tried that, many files conflicts, tried what you suggested via, restore previous versions and it worked, with a few conflicts

Just rewrite them all. If this is the cause, it's probably going to be just Arial or something, but it can't hurt to copy back everything.
just did the restore from previous version and it fixed the issue and i have a working age of empires 1 gold, legend

to add changing the font back caused a minor discolouration issue in the AOE game on start up that lasts for just a second, no idea why though
