Does anyone want to see the Duke Nukem games making an appearance here at GOG.com?
They are well over 10 years old and are made of pure win :D

I'd love Duke to come on GOG. It's on XBLA tomorrow, would be nice to see a PC update too!

The Duke Nukem engine was open sourced a few years ago and there have been a number of free update engines released over the past few years including EDuke32 and JFDuke, not to mention the High Res Pack which adds a lot of prettier looking textures the game.
I don't think the original levels were ever open sourced (I own a couple of copies of the original Duke Nukem 3D game CDs anyway) so there might be a case for GOG selling the original game for people to grab the levels from it.
But the original Build engine was *very* DOS orientated and a pain in the bum to get working on modern Windows systems (especially audio) so there's no point trying to play it with the original executable when the new engines do a much nicer job anyway.
If you've not tried the new engines and have the original level files, they really are well worth checking out - very stable and very pretty!

I don't own an X-Box (not really a console gamer at all) but it would be interesting to know what version they're bringing across to XBLA. As I said in the response to Laser, the original DOS version doesn't run that easily on newer machines so I'd assume one of the newer ports will be used in XBLA,

as far as seeing Duke on GoG.com, I don't think it's likely, as the price point for Duke on XBLA is a little over ten dollars.
I think, I never did understand their damned microsoft points system.

Duke is a classic game that every gamer here has probably played. I for one dont want to use a XBox controller to play a game that I had played w/ mouse and keyboard. Also for 10 bucks, its kinda steep in my opinion (given that it is a great game, but still 10 buck is too hefty).

I actually used a N64 controller.
I'm pleased to see it on the XBLA, and I would love more controller support for games on here.

Well, I guess there's some "young-uns" who have never sampled the delights of DN3D and $10 for buying the game for the first time isn't too bad - though I guess if I had an X-Box I probably wouldn't pay that myself on the basis that I've already bought it twice over on the PC.

Duke Nukem is still acitvely sold by 3DRealms on their website. So no, it won't happen.

Well, I'm just the opposite, I'm afraid! :-)
I borrowed a friend's Gamecube for a while to have a go at a few FPS games on there including the Metroid Prime ones - whilst I enjoyed the games thoroughly, I always had real problems using a controller with an FPS.
But i guess each to his own.

I love Duke and I would love to see it on here. Not really interested in the X-Box version.
Duke also had a level editor and if we could get that as well it would be very sweet.

Ah, good ol' Duke Nukem 3D.
The first game I ever played online way back in the mists of time in the mid-90's.
This game was way ahead of its time with it's co-op mode which has only recently taken off as a way to play a game.
It introduced Mouse-look to the world which every FPS released afterwards has used.
Overlapping map design (enter rooms above rooms which Doom couldn't manage) and a level editor included with the game were other things it was also first to do (maybe... possibly... hell, I don't really know).
Got my Atomic edition sitting on the bookshelf behind me and I'm very tempted to install it and having a butchers at some of these fan-updates.
If DN3D on the 360 is multiplayer enabled with its co-op, deathmatch and Team deathmatch still left intact then 8 player (a lot to have on simple 56k dial up at the time) blastathons are a must which can't be missed.
It's a bargain then.

It most certainly is. I'm afraid I might not buy it however, it seems a little difficult for me. perhaps I'm a pansy or a wuss, but.. the second level of the demo was too hard and I didn't know what to do!

It seems like all of you are talking just about Duke Nukem 3D...but I would like to play also other versions like Duke 1,2 and Manhattan Project...
