Draak is back.

Darkstone, a classic hack-and-slash that introduced 3D graphics into the genre, will have you hacking through hordes of horrors with a 60% discount on GOG.com. That's only $2.39 for the next 24 hours.

When your legal name is "Lord Draak" and you wield the power to transform yourself into a giant dragon, becoming an evil overlord seems like the obvious career choice. Then, if by some strange and totally unexpected twist of fate, you end up deprived of your magic, banished from the realm, and nearly killed you are, again, left with not much of a choice. You obviously need to gather back your minions and devise a new evil plot to terrorize the land and rebuild your reign of fear, violence and darkness. Right? RIGHT?! Well, tough luck, Lord Draak, this game is not about you. It’s about the valiant heroes that are out to get you. Let's repeat that part: Out. To get you. Right. Now.

In Darkstone a party of up to four adventurers sets off on a quest to free the realm of Uma of its oppressor. In the co-op multi-player mode each player controls one of them. In single-player you can switch between two characters and the computer will take control of the one you leave unattended. There are four provinces to explore, each with its own set of quest-filled, procedurally-generated dungeons to keep you busy and boost the game’s replay value. If you enjoy hacking the minions of evil and slashing through one dark, damp dungeon after another, preferably with some friends at your side, but this title somehow is missing from your DRM-free collection, today is the best day to grab it!

Fourteen years after its release, Darkstone remains one of the most memorable titles of the hack-and-slash genre! Start dungeon crawling now, for only $2.39 until Tuesday, October 29 at 10:59AM GMT.
Still better game than Diablo 3!

Just kidding. But it's a good game nonetheless. Be advised, though: if you're one of those guys and gals who don't find early-ish polygon graphics charming... you may not like how this game looks like. (I loved it)
Fun hack and slash and i like how u can have 2 characters. Enjoy the music too.
Nice promo and great game too! Recomended for all ARPG fans

Awesome game, awesome price, recommend it highly. :),
Ouch! Now this is gonna make me feel guilty, either by letting go of money I shouldn't dispose of right now or by doing nothing while I see a decent promo slip by me.

Just kidding.
Actually, I'll gladly stand behind that statement for ya! :)

Decent quests, a good story, random dungeons, colorful graphics, no server to log into...yeah, I'm happy with that. :)

Seriously, I remember having this on PSX back in the day, and it was an insta-buy the day it appeared here on GOG. For those of you who are even remotely interested in this, it's a steal at $2.39. The only complaints I have are that the graphics engine isn't the smoothest, and the characters feel a bit sluggish (that's always been the case though). But...c'mon...$2.39. You can't even buy a cup of "coffee" for that price these days. http://www.cspinet.org/menulabeling/images/starbucks%20panel.jpg

EDIT: Now I have to play it again...haven't stopped thinking about it since this post. :P

It will most likely be on sale this winter, though maybe only 50% off if it doesn't find it's way into a bundle.

What... ofc it's a better game than D3, I could take a shit and then stare at it floating in the bowl for 3 hours and it would be a better game than D3
Can someone elaborate on that message about nvidia driver versions? I'd like to know why I would have to rollback if I bought it.
This is a game worth remastering. Sometimes companies should let their community do that if they don't want to do it commercially.
There's one thing that makes me wonder over and over here on GOG.com:

I am one of those guys, that will keep telling you, they already own every game here on GOG, that they're interested in.

But I always stumble over some games (often in promos) where I think, "I could've bet, I already bought that some time ago!"...totally surprised, to find that this is not the case.

Or I stumble over some promo and think: "why haven't I bought this already?".

Well,...good thing is - those errors are easy to fix. ;o)
When I first played this game, one constant thought kept re-occurring over and over...

"Why is everyone hyping Diablo so much when this game is clearly better in every way?" That, of course, was my opinion, but its what I thought. And, I really liked Diablo. I just found this game to be technically advanced in every area.

This game isn't perfect, and it shows its age a bit in some ways... but it did exactly what clones should do. They didn't just copy something, they greatly improved it. Highly recommended for ARPG/Hack-n-slash fans.
Cool promo.
How is it I've never heard of this!?

As we all know I have no friends so how is the SP?
I've already gone way over my fiscal limit for the month but those screen shots are making my short hairs stand on end; are the good screen shots, does the game actually look that good?
