Clive Barker's Undying, a captivating horror FPS with a dark arcane story penned by one of the masters of terror, is available 60% off today, on GOG.com. That's only $2.39 for the next 24 hours!

There's an ancient realm hidden away from human sight behind the thin veil of what we call reality, and Clive Barker is its dedicated annalist. The outer dimension is much bigger than our own, filled with dark energies and entities, pushing against the curtain, looking for a way in. Sometimes, the veil gives way under the pressure, but it rarely does so without help from our side. Every now and then a human, insane or ignorant enough, will use some strange artifact, carve ancient runes in a doorway, or utter the blasphemous words of a forbidden ritual that was hidden away for ages in some dusty old book. That's how they get through to our side, and they did so from the beginning of time. It's people like Mr. Barker who keep track of the breaches, record the events, and try to bring the truth out in the daylight. In books, movies, graphic novels--the gospel of darkness spreads. This game, just as well, is more than just a work of fiction. It's a warning.

Clive Barker's Undying, delivers one of the most wicked tales of occult terror right onto our computer screens, in the form of a story-driven first-person shooter. With a gallery of memorable characters and locations that will make chill run down your spine, it remains one of the most gripping horror games ever created. The old mansion that you'll be exploring for the better part of the game, is one of the most iconic places in the memories of many gamers, and its ghastly inhabitants surely still haunt their dreams. If you haven't yet experienced this terrifying gem of an FPS, be sure to grab it today.

Never ignore the unseen horror lurking behind the curtain separating us from insanity. Learn as much as you can about the other side in Clive Barker's Undying, for only $2.39 today, on GOG.com! The offer lasts until Tuesday, July 16, at 9:59AM GMT.
Precious Undying we meet again. <3
Very inconsiderate, GoG! Some of us need to spend the rest of the Atari promo in quiet contemplation, without such treacherous distractions ;)
Great gem promo!
Downloaded it and played or for 3 hours...not worth it.

Lame combat that makes you rely on the green stone to defend yourself because you are unable to doge enemy attacks (looking at howlers), and level design is pretty lame as well.

Atmosphere is ok, but not enough to save the game.
For a mere $2.39 it definitely worth it whether you like the game or not. At the very least it is not something unplayable or total mess.
Just looking for clarification. Previous posters have mentioned the lack of subtitles. I am deaf and rely on subtitles for a great deal of my gaming. Do I need it for this game?

I'm a non-english native speaker and don't have problems to play the game even with some scenes without subtitles, but sounds are a very important piece of this game ambientation and I guess this will affect much more your experience with the game than the lack of subtitles
Ooh, I've wanted to get this game for 10 years and somehow missed it during the Summer Sale.

Thank you, GOG!

trusteft: Probably the last game that I found "scary".
Have you tried Amnesia? It's pretty much the only game in which I've actually felt scared.
One of the few FPSs from that time with a good story, as well as interesting characters. Pretty challenging as well, as the enemies are not push-overs and supplies are not over-abundant. And the Barker elements make it even more engaging and fresh.

Highly recommended at the regular asking price, it's unmissable as a bargain.

And the instant death traps. Never forget the instant death traps.

So true. You will die alot in this game. Very much alot. Especially for a game called Undying.

EDIT: And you will go around for a week after playing confronting closed doors with cries of "STUCK!" and "JAMMED!"

I think i will finally buy this game. When it was first released, my computer could not play it.
Y'know, I read the word "annalist" as "analist" - LOL!
And it's "make chills run down your spine" You missed the plural there :P

Clive Barker writes crap horror stories, but this really is a good game. Ignore those that say they don't like it. It's usually because they can't get their heads around it.

Amnesia puts you in a situation where you can't fight back. That I don't enjoy at all in a game. It's frustration, not fear.

You can't feel fear if you can fight back. Also, handicaps of sorts and things that would just be annoying in a non-horror game are what has made many horror classics far more terrifying than most modern horror games. :P

Also: holy sh... I almost missed this deal. Also I thought that I had already grabbed this game during some promo. I was wrong. O_O
