Title says it all, because I'm going away for school so I'm wondering can I have my games on my laptop and desktop.
Sure, you can download them as many times you want, on as many machines you want.
Yes, on as many as you like (as long as they're all your own computers). See questions 2 and 9 at http://www.gog.com/en/support/website_help/downloads_and_games
You can install on as many computers as you like. They have no way of preventing you from installing on other people's machines.

However, the rule is that you only install on your own machines. And it's probably best to treat it like a book on those machines.

Other than that, it's preferable that you only download once if possible as it's more convenient for everybody not to waste the extra bandwidth.
it's the third main selling point of GOG:

The best old school games

At dirt cheap price

DRM-Free

. . .which means you can install on as many machines as you want. For instance, I have some of my games on my desktop, my personal laptop, even my work laptop for when I go on trips.
You... Oh, it was answered already.

TheEnigmaticT did once say it's alright to lend a game to a friend so long as you don't play it while it is out on loan (as if you are sharing a single physical copy.)
