Grab your hiking mouse and climbing keyboard and get ready for an amazing voyage--there’s a whole weekend full of adventure ahead of you. [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/adventure_games_weekend_promo]This weekend a great selection of adventure games is available 50% off on GOG.com. You can get Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, Little Big Adventure 2 (Twinsen’s Odyssey), Simon the Sorcerer series, and many more spectacular titles for half-price until Tuesday, July 31 at 03:59 AM GMT.

Let’s start with Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, the exciting sequel to one of the most acclaimed adventure titles in the history. In Dreamfall a young, unwitting heroine by the name of Zoë Castillo becomes involved in a complicated plot that endangers the existence of two parallel worlds: the technologically advanced Stark and magical Arcadia. To save them she sets off to search for April Ryan, who traversed the boundary between the realms ten years before. Dreamfall offers it all: intelligent dialogues, gripping story, and, most importantly, solving puzzles in a 3D environment using some unique in-game mechanics. We’re offering you Dreamfall: The Longest Journey 50% off for the next 3 days.

Little Big Adventure 2--better known as Twinsens Odyssey to Northern American players--continues the story of Twinsen, the hero of Twinsun, a colorful, yet dangerous world suspended between two suns. In his new quest Twinsen, whos’ now an accomplished wizard, travels in search of means to defend his planet from an outerworldly invasion. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg of trouble that he’ll have to face in this 3D action adventure game, certified with 5-star rating from GOG.com users. Little Big Adventure 2, a great game for kids to learn what video games should look and feel like, is fully localized in English, German, and French and text-localized in Spanish, Italian, and Portugese. Grab it now for only $2.99!

Simon the Sorcerer, Simon the Sorcerer 2, and Simon the Sorcerer 3D is a cherished series of adventure classics known for its tongue-in-cheek humor, devious puzzles, and countless allusions to popular fantasy books, games, and movies. While the first two games use hand-crafted pixel-art graphics and a traditional point-and-click interface with clickable on-screen commands, the third one takes Simon’s misadventures into a 3D environment while retaining all of its predecessors’ charm. Put yourself in the pointy shoes of a young apprentice of wizardry for 50% off, this weekend only on GOG.com

Point-and-click yourself towards the promo page and embark on a fantastic adventure for 50% off!
I was so sure there wasn't anything on the GOG list I would want anymore. And then I ended up adding four more games to my collection, which already is long enough to last for the rest of my life. But when you see good games dirt cheap, what else can you do? :)
There is a demo for Dreamfall if anyone is curious about it. I downloaded it to make sure it would run on my computer; it did, so I'm getting that, Simon the Sorcerer 3D, and Journeyman 2 and 3! I'm a sucker for adventure games.

gogskel: Okay, there is NO WAY I'm not buying the (first two) Simon the Sorceror games....

G-Doc: You would find that the third one stays true to the spirit of its predecessors, so if you're into Simon games for the humor and puzzles, not the (excellent) pixel-art, you might find it just as much enjoyable.
I'm not, but I have my thresholds.

Graphics must fall into one of two categories:

1) They are great

2) They do the job without looking sloppy

Looking at those screen shots gave me the jeebies. It gave me the impression that someone animated a bunch of badly cut out cereal boxes held together with scotch tape.

I would have preferred dated looking 2D over this mess.

I'm interested in the Journeyman Project games. There's just one thing I'm curious about: Since it's unlikely we'll see the first title pop up here, is it at all noticeable if one starts the series with only the second game?

I never played the first one, and I don't remember ever having problems with 2. I think you'll be fine (I plan on grabbing 2 before the weekend ends too :)

Oh and btw, they're both really good games.

grviper: Oh great, 4 games I want in a single promo, where I already have 3, and this happens after GOG buried the progressive discounts.
I like how you/Roman/etc complain about not getting more than 50% off on already cheap games.

/silly mode off

But the more % off, the better, right?

As long as it doesn't cause GOG to land in the poor house, I say the more the merrier......but I can't understand why anyone would get seriously distraught over having to pay an extra 75 cents or so(Unless they were poor, that is.).

Edit: General Post on-topic: This is a pretty awesome little sale......

I had Simon 1 from an earlier sale, so I picked up Simon 2(I also got LBA2 to compliment LBA, which I also got awhile back.).....I also played JP2 in the past(and loved it) so I re-bought it now(along with JP3).

Of the remainder I also got The Feeble Files, and re-bought 11th hour as well.

I'm still contemplating Simon 3D(I heard others say it's bad, but I liked Daikatana.....)

The humour's still there, the characters actually have some degree of facial animation, but navigating and walking around can be a pain.

The graphics remind me of KQ8 for some reason(another panned game that I like.). :\

I have so many games already(Gog/console/etc.), but at these prices it's hard to NOT buy them.

11th hour and Journeyman Project 3 off the Wishlist.
Dreamfall -don't worry - your turn will come....
I was wondering

Are Post Mortem, Still Life and Still Life 2 also part of The Longest series?

Nope, separate series and developers.

Good thing cause I was also thinking about Syberia as well ....they all look to be the same protagonist. XD

Just a heads up...........on my 19 inch monitor running at 1440x900 the screen for 11th hour was off(The screen was off center, with only the right half of the game screen showing on the left side of the monitor.).

Dunno if this will be the case for everyone, but I found a fix......if you go into the game install folder and edit ddraw.ini's resolution numbers to anything above 640x480 it should display fine. Just don't set it too high, though, or the game screen will be too small.
