HypersomniacLive: I didn't change my sleeping habits at any point of the Insomnia Sale
So, the self-professed hypersomniac didn't give in to insomnia. Ain't that just shocking. :-P

XD - An insomniac that can't fix the problem and denies themselves to sleep whenever they're finally able to is a very unwise person.

Jack Keane run its second and longest round at around the time I usually feel tired enough to try to sleep - given that when I got up a few hours later he was approaching the finish line, I believe I made the right choice ;-P

Happy Holidays!

rtcvb32: Where is the 'rule by magic' picture from? Looks pretty spiffy, and I know I'd like to see more of it.
avatar
Siannah: Google "king's bounty xeona" and you shall receive.
avatar
justanoldgamer: It's one of the wallpaper that comes with "King's Bounty: The Legend". I do not know if she is in the game.

Edit: Oops, I got Ninja'd I think is the term. I should have read till the end of the thread before posting.

rtcvb32: Hmmm well I'll just drool for a while.

What what I can tell she can be one of your 'wife's and you can have children with her and they give bonuses, although if she's a playable unit/character I don't know...
I can definitely say that any "wife" you get in-game is not a playable character. Rather, they are a form of stat-booster. The same with any kids you have with her. Catch is that once you dismiss a wife in favor of another one that comes along, you lose that dismissed wife and all associated kids, never to be used again. I suppose you could go the lecherous route and just keep procreating and taking new wives and do more procreating, but for role-playing purposes of noble night I have been sticking to the ones I got first.

jackster79: That is a good part of my sentiment towards it as well.

Ah well, maybe enough folks will be willing to give ol' Jack a chance, and in the spirit of Christmas forgive his past transgressions (like taking his sweet time during the Insomnia Sale).

fronzelneekburm: I can only speak for the first Keane game, but that one was actually quite good. I got a physical copy along with a bunch of other recent adventure titles a few years ago and Keane was easily the best one.

It's certainly better than friggin' Myst! (But, yes, the price point is indeed off! You can get a physical copy containing both Keane games for less than €10 on German amazon. DRM-free, AFAIK!)

Oh well, if the Cinematic Adventures pack isn't chosen, at least it'll be available at some later point during the sale.
Well, with the price point being higher than is acceptable at normal price, that is all the more reason to vote for that community deal - to bring the price point more in line with what one may be willing to pay to at least try out Jack.

jackster79: Are you guys saying that I should NOT have voted for the Cinematic Adventures? :-p

Always wanted to eventually get the Runaway games, and well, might as well collect a piece of history with the other set.

At least there *is* a timer for JK this time around.

CarrionCrow: Also voted for the Jack Keane/Runaway bundle. Considering how pleasant and good natured the developers of Jack Keane were, even as a ton of people made jokes at its expense, caused me to see them favorably. Also, have been curious about it since the Insomnia sale. What if it's awesome and it was just the price point that was off rather than the game itself?
I think you are right, that it was more a matter of price, and the fact that JK2 is not a Good Old Game in the true sense, that caused the stall in the Insomnia sale. It doesn't look like a bad game, just bad timing. And bashing it became (and remains) a bonding moment for Insomniacs... actually, for at least a whole day of round 3 I was beginning to find the constant Keane jokes as tiresome as staying up to see the end of batch#2. The good ones grew on me, and I think the game will too. But still lots to go on my wishlist before I spend that kind of money...
And yea, the lord descended from heaven, garbed in flamboyant crimson and fur (kinda like he was an Alaskan pimp) and said unto us all, "Did you buy enough crap from your local Walmart? They've had lots of really good sales going lately" whilst levitating reindeer defecated upon thy lawn, and yea, we were all truly blessed.

And I didst say unto the lord, "Get out of my house, you fat ****, and take your flying ****dribblers with you. I did not go into the blighted bosom of our would-be Arkansas overlords, nor did I chop down a tree and cover it in plastic icicles while huffing on the nearest can of aerosol frost to take thine evil visions from my sight. Rather, I took your cookies and milk money and spent it all at GOG. And no, I didn't buy you any. Now **** off."
I see the promos expired but the timer for the next day still goes, nothing reseted. GOG is silent, no news on this matter.
Sorry GOG, no matter how much time Jack gets in the voting process, he just can not and definitely will not win :-P

I'm thinking they accidentaly set the main timer to 48 hours, and they probably have the day off (since it's Christmas) so they won't be realising it until tomorrow. Now that's sad... We just lost a day of sales. Maybe they'll change the end date and set it to January 30 since they messed up this day.

I somehow doubt it was by accident - since it's Christmas Day, they probably planned it this way in order for all GOG staffers to have a hassle-free day with their families and friends. Maybe they expected today to be a slow day anyway.
SCANDAL! WE ARE DOOOMED!

I doubt that. Steam, Gamersgate, GetGamesGo, Greenmangaming and Gamefly still have promos and change them on a daily basis. It's an automated system. This just loses them money and delays any purchasing activity on the site. If what you say would be the case, the promo should have stayed active 48 hours as well. No, it's more than 90% probability of a erroneous configuration of the main timer, it just doesn't make sense to be another way.
Damn, just wanted to buy the rule by magic bundle and now it says "promo over" even though the timer is still running...
Did someone at GOG HQ forget to set up a new sale before everyone left?

Apparently they did... I would be content if you could still access and buy the bundles, though. (Assuming the timer is correct, but the bundles glitched...)

Main timer was set to 48 hours, while promo timers were set to 24 hours. That's the issue.
