Darvond: CTRL+F "Tim Follin" No results.
CTRL+F "Rob Hubbard" No results.

GOG, I am dissapoint. You can't really make a chip thread without mentioning those two greats.
Since this is a game forum, we could assume that most members already know those two because they composed several super famous game soundtracks. So it's like starting a thread about classic music and then mentioning Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Beethoven's 5th and so on.

Btw: Monty on the Run by Hubbard is one of my favorite tunes of all, so much fun! Please be un-disappointed now :D

Ott M. Aaloe: SkyRoads menu music

Kenny Chow: Zone 66 intro music

Jas C. Brooke: music from Retaliator
One of my favorites,

MegaMan.

tinyE: Okay I read that as 'Chipmunk'.

I have two of their Christmas albums.
I bought the Chipmonk's album by mistake. It was the most uncomfortable silence I've ever heard.

If you like chiptune, I'd definitely recommend Ryu Umemoto (EVE Burst Error, YU-NO) and Masashi Kageyama (Gimmick!). Both artists were very talented and made some great music given the hardware they were provided (PC-98 & NES respectively).

I'd also recommend 8BitDanooct1 for his stellar NES-inspired covers of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games. His work is really quite impressive and spans the entire breadth of the SEGA Genesis/Megadrive series.

Herzog Zwei OST - Sleight of Hand
Zabutom - Zeta force

Zabutom - Final Blast
Do you mean only current chiptune artists or are we also allowed to mention classics?

If we go with classics, since Hubbard was already mentioned (This guy was a real sound wizard! Almost every song from him was an instant classic!) I'll go with:

Ben Daglish - Last Ninja

Hard to believe this guy pressed over 48 minutes of some of the best C64 music in existence into a mere 34 KB.

Edit: And let's not forget about Jeroen Tel from the Maniacs of Noise. They also had many kickass C64 tunes back in the day. And that guy is still active. Listen to a demo of a very new remake of Cybernoid by Jeroen Tel himself.

I think Ozzed is pretty good. I love this tune, for example.
