Hi everyone,

new to the brilliant gog.com

So. I'm sure this has been asked several times, judging the reviews, however are gog addressing the issue about making the CD-ROM editions issue of X Wing / Tie Fighter available to d/l?

Cheers

Adrian
Welcome to GOG!

And yeah, GOG is offering the original floppy versions and the '98 Windows CD-ROM versions (without the dynamic iMusse soundtrack) of both X-Wing and TIE-Fighter. It really is a shame. Sadly, there haven't been any new official comments on this issue other than "we don't have the license".

At least the classic game is available and able to run on current OS'. The gameplay will still be brilliant.

Cheers Shadow.

That is indeed true. For the Windows version of TIE-Fighter there is a mod that replaces the John Williams soundtrack with a special version of the OST, still not dynamic but as close to the original as you can get I guess: http://www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_tie_fighter_special_edition/mod_reconstructed_original_score_and_high_quality_voice_for_tie98
