UI improvements and better controller support, among others.

The sprawling space sim X Rebirth just got updated with a whole bunch of quality of life improvements and fixes. To celebrate, the game is 75% off while all previous entries in the series are 50% off until December 13, 2PM UTC.

Here are some of the things that got tweaked:

- An all-new quick menu was added.
- It's now possible to target-tock using a gamepad
- Zoom buttons added to the map
- AI fight/free behavior got improved
- Ability menu now looks better
- Several fixes

For a more detailed look at all the improvements brought by the 4.30 update, check out this changelog.

Seems like a very nice discount on Rebirth. How does it compare to TC/AP? Early reviews were pretty brutal, but does that still hold for its current state?

I just bought rebirth & the upgrade as it worked out cheaper than the complete edition in my region. Shouldn't the store be showing I own the complete edition too as that is kind of the point of the upgrade?

I think you have one of those funny disconnects in which the stores backend doesnt realise base+upgrade=complete

Thank you Egosoft for keeping your GOG products up to date. I greatly appreciate it.

Are you still stuck with flying a single ship, you mean? Well, yes...
So I take it the Winter Sale starts tomorrow then?

I earlier bought the complete edition right away, and now it shows me that I own Rebirth and the Complete Edition... but it still offers the Complete Edition upgrade for purchase. Oh well.

... and by the way, X3: Terran War Pack also got patched with minor graphical compatibility and performance improvements. Only the updated Windows installers are available for now, but I'm hoping we'll soon get the new Mac/Linux versions as well.
I see they added TrackIR support in April and time acceleration in this December patch. Back to the wishlist it goes.

Will the VR version also be coming to GOG? I'm thinking about getting an Occulus Rift and I wouldn't mind getting the VR version here.

Where exactly are
DLC: The Teladi Outpost
DLC: Home of Light (new!)
Soundtrack Volume 1 (MP3)
Exclusive: Soundtrack Volume 2 (MP3)
Optional download: X - The Space Opera - Per Musica ad Albion (Video)
Bonus download with artworks and X encyclopedia

For the complete edition? The don't seem to be under the downloadable extras. I bought x Rebirth & the complete edition upgrade.
I still haven't had time to enjoy the other X games and it hasn't reached my $5 US collection/impulse-buying threshold, so I'll wait.

It seems to come on sale at 75%-off at least twice yearly, so I'm not too concerned. (Given how far the growth of my entertainment collection has outstripped my ability to consume it, I no longer fret over "what if it gets pulled from DRM-free distribution before I can buy it?".)

The DLCs should show up on the download page, the goodies might be packaged with the game as I don't see them either (at least on my phone).

I'm seeing x revirth, patch 4.30 and the two dlc.

The list I pulled was from the complete edition as listed on steam. If they put the soundtracks and other stuff with the installers that is being a little silly as to have to download 6-7gb to listen to audio tracks and thumb through a digital artbook is more than a little ridiculous

I just checked the descriptions, on GOG you get the DLC and the game, not the fluff. On steam you have to get the Collector's edtion to get those which isn't available here.
