Cavenagh: Don't use Win 8, and you'll be fine....
Have you read the whole thread? Windows 8 is the least of his problems. XD

Randalator: Sure. Wanna buy some?
avatar
yyahoo: Hold on now, I'm not stupid. Before I make any decisions here, did you buy them with a legitimate credit card?
I print them myself.

Hmm, I'll need to see a sample first.

That sys should be able to run witcher 1 no prob, only thing I can think of, is the lap is overheating, or full of crapware.

Lower the details [textures] to medium, trial and error

Or you bought that laptop from ebey..

Hope you get it fixed, I really enjoyed Witcher !, on Phenom x4 965 BE and ati 3000 graphics [on board]

all the best

Defil3d3500: And I DO feel ripped off.
Spoken like a true pirate.

Defil3d3500: I never figured id have to go into the system file.
Nope, but it's what GOG support told you to do.

Read the quote in your first post: "Please go to the game's directory (default: C:\GOG Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut), open the "System" folder,"

Of course they couldn't help you when you wouldn't follow their very simple instructions.

Defil3d3500: The way i see it, i [...] Get to BETA the game before i buy it
I do not think that word means what you think it means.

mike_cesara: Apparently you were right tinyE, must be a full moon or polarshift at last..
Where they come from?
Either Youtube video commenters or maybe 4chan I think.

Defil3d3500: Can people drop the pirate tihng? It has no bearing on this. I payed for a game from GOG and am experiencing issues with it. Thats the bottom line here. I've explained myself 3 times so far and made perfectly reasonable statements for what i do, and explained that i still buy the games i like once they reach the price im willing to pay for them after 2 to 5 months at market. I dont give them away, i dont sell them. So drop it.

And yes, they actually probably would. Im still an equal user and human being who has been disrepected and violated without cause or reason multiple times at your(and others) hands. A clear violation of their terms of service. Period. Now please, attempt to be helpful or leave.

Anyone know what to do when theres no Overdrive folder in your Data folder? How do i install the texture mod fix now?

misteryo: You began by insulting GOG support, although 2 pages later a screenshot revealed that you didn't follow their instructions, which work.
In "defending yourself" you have been insulting, rude, and hot-tempered in a thread where a bunch of people showed up to help you.
Then you admitted to piracy in a forum where most people actively work against DRM. Pirating undermines their efforts, and they take this seriously.
On top of all that, you reported TinyE, who is kind of our unofficial mascot. We love him.
To finish off, you still want our help.

Bye bye.
I think what everyone failed to realize right away, is that what we have here is a Genuine bonafide Help Vampire(TM). :)
