It looks like CD Projekt Red is having issues optimizing the game if their recommended specs, which are already so high will net ONLY 30 fps.

http://www.gamepressure.com/e.asp?ID=51

Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3,4 GHz
AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770
AMD GPU Radeon R9 290
RAM 8GB
OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
DirectX 11
HDD Space 40 GB

Those specs are way too high to only net 30 fps. And the video released last week doesn't inspire confidence.
Are all the textures and models the same?
Yes, there is only one version, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to make the game on time. We would have to take it all apart, and build and test on three different platforms at the same time, which is impossible. So we have one base, and then carry it over to other platforms.

"It is impossible to make a game for three different platforms that will utilize all of the various platforms’ unique feature and specs. It’s a technical fact. Making an exclusive title allows to squeeze more out of the target machine."
I already pre-ordered the game and plan on building my first desktop in May, so we shall see how it goes, but the interview makes it feel like the game is too focused towards consoles. But GOG hasn't failed me yet :)

Those parts are recommended. You can build a rig that runs it with any recent 4 core processor and something like an overclocked HD 7850. Anyhow; the demos seem to be getting worse; so I think we'll have our 60 fps on reasonable settings; combined with the fact that they're using the same textures and models. If you're building for it; I'd advice an Nvidia GPU. Either a min-sys.req GTX 660 or an overclocked 650 Ti Boost to cut a few $$$ and be more risk-taking. Both are quite cheap nowadays; in the USA ofc.

I think a 4 core CPU+just good GPU will run it. Lets hope and keep fingers crossed doh ;D
I am already hoping in an Enhanced Edition of the calibre of TW2's one. I can understand their reasoning for the intial release, but I surely expect several optimization patches and enhancements for the PC version.

I get kind of sad reading the comments made about that interview. Today it all seems to be about who has the highest fps, the biggest draw distance or the most detailed textures. What about story? Immersion? Fun?

EDIT: Plus, Enebias is probably right.

Oh definitely, that's why I'm not going to refund like so many others, story has always been #1 for me.

Yup, it's been my policy to wait atleast 1 month before playing a new game I buy unless I am super excited by it. Patches after the fact are now the norm

Considering my awful internet connection, when I'll manage to download the entire installer the Enhanced Edition will have probably been already released, anyway! XD
No, seriously, I'm sure I won't be able to play the unpatched edition. Better this way! :)
I think claiming the game has problems now is really pointless, at least until the game will be officially out.
Also this is an open world game, very demanding even with good CPu and GPU. 60 fps would be nice, but even 30 fps will do the job. I really hope, anyway, this won't be another Witcher 2, badly optimized.

Oh and Star Citizen might take up to 100 GB so there's that...

My ass is impossible. Other developers can do it just fine.
