^ cause the managment changed in almost 20 years and the top of sega now thinks very differently ?

and considering sega says they are now focussing on the pc and the mobile gaming market who knows what will happen ?

assuming they arent digging their own grave
I like them to bring Total War games here and PC versions of Shenmue and Yakuza.

Hopefully, although it's a bit disturbing, that in all articles about this "twist" I've read, they're mentioning about "online" PC games (not "digital", but "online"). Oh well, at least I have hope that they'll end with all these Nintendo exclusives.

waluigi: I'm wondering if ending the contract with DotEmu gives some chances for similar contract with GOG. It's still one of the most surprising things in this whole case for me, why DotEmu (far smaller initiative than GOG) managed to sell their games without DRM.
I should have linked you that btw :-)
I bought the Sega games (Sonic) for my android devices and my Ouya, I don't see why they can't release a version for the PC, since there are Android emulators for the PC which work quite well.

I'm sure it's a positing for the best price they can get, who knows.

Grargar: Noboby knows why they haven't signed up. Your guess is as good as mine.
Sega has no idea how to stay in buisness. This has been incredibly obvious for quite a while.
No idea? - Something to do with "pay to play DRM" :/

Sega is too busy making wonderful games like Sonic Boom to consider bringing their games over to gog.
Technically, Sega is already a publisher on GOG. Although, I'm guessing that was something that was in the works prior to the restructuring at Atlus/Index Holdings. A shame too, seeing as how Atlus tried dabbling with its flagship series on PC less than a decade ago, sadly only in Japan, though.
Because Sega is stupid and hates money.

No, really. They have loads of games that would fit here, and many are pretty much DRM-Free but again - they're stupid and hate money.

And I say this as someone who's been a fan of theirs for over twenty years.

Being a fan of theirs and being one of their accountants is two different things entirely. They made their app available to the android devices (including the OUYA) so you *could* technically use one of the android emulators out there to play it, if you choose to. However, it would really be cool to play Sonic CD, well heck, even the Super Mario (yes I know it's not SEGA) franchise.

I'd give a little coin to bring back some memories, let's see if they'll bite.

they manage to stay afloat because of nostalgia

sonic ( ignoring that sonic boom went boom )

and sammy's pachinko machines but their actual business decisions have been abysmal

and that is anything new ?

the problem is sega of japans backwards ways and refusal to try new things or take risks or look for new avenues
it was seg aof america that made the megadrive a huge succes
it was sega of america that made sega a household name
it was sega of america that had their heads screwed on right

and then sega dropped the saturn on everybody 4 months early
and they have been in a death spiral ever since

but then the actual sega the sega that made classics games the sega we all know and love that sega is long gone
it died in 2001 along with the dreamcast when they pulled out of hardware manufacturing

the sega we got now is a pale imitation a ghost wandering around
and my brand loyalty only goes so far

Yeah, that sounds about right. I bought into the Sega CD thing long ago, it was one of the first cool things I ever owned aside of the 8-track player and three tapes with Boston, the Eagles and Kansas.

Bad business decisions end up being the downfall of many of a company. When will they ever learn, when will they *ever* learn.
I wish GOG could get a deal with Sega as well. I've always wanted to play Sonic Generations but without all the DRM.
