I don't even bother with transfers, I just linked PayPal to my bank account; when I make a purchase, PayPal makes a withdrawal of only what it needs to fill the purchase. None of my funds get tied up, I can shop anywhere (GOG is blocked by my CC company) and I get a reasonable layer of security between me and any bad actors online.

l0rdtr3k: After a slight problem with my CC yesterday,I'm seriously thinking about making a Paypal account.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the system? Is it reliable and safe?
I have had a PayPal account for years that is tied directly to my checking account. If I make a purchase I do not have to have funds in my PayPal account, it will be taken from my checking account automatically. If I do have funds in my PayPal account it is taken from there first. I have not had any issues using PayPal.
Paypal adds foreign currency fees, so for me it's not ideal for GOG's small transacions in dollars.

I don't understand, why not select Euro as your currency on the GOG page.

Err.. I think I pay a little less in $.. also habit for the old setup.. lol.
Maybe when 1$ will be 1€ I'll have to switch.
(sorry I'm tired -_-)

Paypal works fine for me. I've had a few customers pay for parts via Paypal so that gives me a bit of a balance that I use to buy stuff like games, t-shirts, what have you. Really couldn't be any easier to use. Unlike a store credit (like a gOg Wallet doohickey), you can pull the money out via deposit into a bank account (and maybe to your credit card?), and can also use it anywhere else that accepts Paypal.

I normally try to find reasons to gripe about a service like Paypal but so far I have none.

Nps, just I bought Darkstone in euros just now for 1.39 and got invoiced by Paypal for 1.39, so there was no charge.
I finally made my account.
Will try to buy later.
