JMich: Have you tried asking Nicalis about it?
My perspective: I've tried contacting Nicalis multiple times and never got a response. :P Heck, just a few days ago I tweeted Tyrone Rodriguez to no affect.

With so many votes I definitely agree the game (and the Binding of Isaacs) should be here, but not much else I can do. Hopefully others will make contact.
Maybe the same reason as this game

Shame on GOG
I love Cave Story+ I have it on Steam, since it isn't on here, and I do like it. I played the original game, and it was fun, and this newer one is fun too, love the new HD visuals and new soundtrack!

It is like some games that are not on here.... look at older titles like The Sims 1, Myst 3 (which was back in 2001) and Myst 4.... not on here either after all these years, and Cyan said they would love to release it online, but it seems Ubisoft is not, and I reached out to them, and no reply!

Shame on GOG
Reminds me of the Excelsior (Ultima-like titles) games being rejected.
What surprises me is someone from GOG (it might have been Trevor Longino) said they hadn't even been in contact with Nicalis. Why not? I have no idea if that's changed since then, but you would think the powers that be at GOG would actively go after such an influential indie. Sure, it's been around the block a few times, but it absolute would sell more than enough copies here to justify the effort.

OK guys, the thing is that I only play games I never gather any information about them. It has both, positive and negative consequences but that's a fact: I simply don't enjoy reading/hearing/watching/... about games. I only play them. And thus I can only talk about my personal experience with a given game. In case of Cave Story + it was definitely very positive but not something that would make me call the game a masterpiece. What you have just told me about the game and its creator is very impressive and of course I'm willing to praise it for its importance in gaming industry. But with my personal attitude I still only judge my personal experience and it hasn't changed. But thanks a lot for this information, I like discussions where I can see point of view of other people :)

I can't get the form to work though. :l
The game and Pixel are great, but I don't have that high an opinion of Nicalis. Still, it would be nice to see the game here.

“It's a must-play masterpiece for anyone who like classic action games -- or any kind of action game, really. The only real question is which will amaze you more: That this is the work of a single man, or that they actually do make 'em like this anymore.”

Prefer the non-remix soundtrack to be honest.
e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHtWKbR_P-c

Can't remember whether CS+ includes the original versions or not. I know it lets you choose between the version you posted and a slightly stranger remix (which is apparently from the Wii version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrsumAFaWxE).

p.s. Any reason this post was flagged as a reply to my last post? Or just GOG's forum software freaking out as usual?
