Well, coming from an Emergency Management family, it is certainly worse this generation. My thinking is we're seeing a generation that doesn't have or use common sense while they also harbor an innate feeling that someone or something will take care of them -- keep them safe.

firstpastthepost: It's not a generational problem. It seems giving cell phones to people of any age make them do stupid things... case in point, Anthony Wiener.

GameRager: 1. If it was genuine I apologize. The wording and it's relation to the title threw me off a bit.
2. I got a bit upset because you/amok are rambling back and forth offtopic instead of adding to the thread topic in a constructive fashion while using crude wordplay. I understandably got a bit hot under the collar as a result, as one might expect.
Question: If you made a thread and people came in & began to reply in such a fashion would you be happy with it?
(Also offtopic: I have a terrible history? How so? Because I say some opinions some dislike to hear?
Also there are many others here who are much more "terrible" than I am considered to be(like others here who post borderline porn in people's threads including those of a religious nature.....just to upset those they dislike...including those who adhere to a particular religion))
3. The nutella "joke" is uncalled for and if someone else did it(or I did it) in another thread you can bet i'd be called on it or worse & you know it.
They won't hire you as a forum mod unless you move to Warsaw. Just an FYI, no matter how much you try to police the forum for them. 2. And pretty sure Sachys wouldn't give a shit if people started derailing his threads... He generally derails his own threads a few posts in.

There was a youtuber who thought to up the ante by having his GF shoot him with a Desert Eagle 0.50 caliber pistol hoping a thick book would save his life. It didn't. I seen the woman one falling off the cliff. Sad but stupid...
I think there's more of them today due to emboldening messages of empowerment and a real rage boner against authority. Combine that with schools having their teeth taken away because we can't properly punish misbehaving children or fail stupid ones to make sure they learn what they're supposed to (self confidence is, after all, more important than an actual education) and we have dumb kids with smart phones. There are less inhibitions and more emphasis on "look at me" with platforms like Twitter and Youtube and people are more willing to take bigger risks to get recognized, because if the right person notices them they could make it big! Technology makes it more noticeable, but it also breeds the environment wherein people are desperate or stupid enough to get in these positions.

I keep hearing ''people have complained about younger generations since ancient times, it's always been this way'', but the fact is we only very recently got the internet and that is having a huge, unprecedented impact on how we interact.
