Hey. I am planning to buy a new laptop so i was wondering people who played witcher 3 are happy with their laptops or not? I would like to see the specifications of laptops that are able to run witcher 3 without problems. A list like..

CPU : i7-4720HQ (please add the second part since i7 alone doesnt mean anything to me)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX860M
RAM: 8 GB.
Witcher 3 runs smoothly with a few lags now and then.

... something like that will do it. I asked that question in witcher 3 forum but i have a feeling its not very popular. So here it is. What is your pc build for witcher 3? Everyone is welcomed.

EDIT: You can also post your DESKTOPS as well as your LAPTOPS.

I don't know whether you're looking to run the game at 60 fps or what graphics settings would be according to your standard but following are the specs and settings that I use to play The Witcher 3, hope it helps to make an informed decision regarding a new laptop purchase. Let me know if you require any other info as well. :)

CPU : i7-3630QM @ 2.40 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7970M 2GB GDDR5
RAM: 8 GB
I run the game locked at 30 fps with Hairworks off, all GFX settings High except Foliage Density which is set to Medium. TW3 runs very smooth with almost no frame drops on my laptop.

Thank you very much stg83. Your contribution was very helpful.

I am a little disappointed with the community. Either nobody who play witcher 3 saw that topic or people arent willing to share information nowadays.
i7 @ 2.4 GHz
8 GB RAM
but GeForce 520 Ti

The framerate is still good just shy of the maximum settings, but without the Hairworks.
The specifications for minimum and recommended settings are found on the game page:
Minimum system requirements - Windows:
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
Processor: Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz or AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940
Memory: RAM 6 GB
Graphics: Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660 / AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870
Please mind that we only officially support full-size desktop graphics cards
Hard Drive: 35 GB of available space
DirectX: 11

Recommended system requirements - Windows:
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
Processor: Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz / AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
Memory: RAM 8 GB
Graphics: Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770 / AMD GPU Radeon R9 290
Hard Drive: 35 GB of available space
DirectX: 11

Other than that, its up to how much graphically fluff you want to add in, i.e. assume Recommended or better.

Thank you Charon. That was helpful.

Thank you for your kind directions but i am not interested in those settings. I am in computer business for 25 years and I installed over 10 thousand computers. One thing I learned is that every configuration has its own soul and performance. A computer which looks worse on paper may perform much better in real. So I am checking for cpu+gpu performances.

Besides, they say that they only support desktop graphic cards. I am checking laptop combinations. I dont want to buy a 5K $ laptop and find out its gpu drivers are not happy with witcher 3.

So guys. Come on. Only 2 combinations? We can do better than that.
I don't have The Witcher 3 .

Thank you for the recommendation but where do you see 500 topics about it? I could only find this thread.

http://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/the_witcher_3_runs_fine_with_intel_core_i3_4160_and_gtx_960/page1

I skimmed the first 50 pages of both forums yet didnt see anything other than that. Tried searching "specification" "settings for witcher 3" and "computer for witcher 3" with no useful result.
I have an Asus G751JY with i7 4710HQ, GTX980m, 16 GB ram and i run the game on 1920×1080 alnost everything on ultra (i hate motion blur so that's off and shadows are only high since i see no difference between ultra and high). I get around 40-45 fps on average, rarely under 40, never under 38.

The reason you're probably not getting a lot of responses is because I don't think a lot of folks here have high end gaming laptops capable of running a demanding game like TW3. The majority most likely play the game on their desktop PCs instead of the laptops so assuming you're interested in that specific info they wouldn't have anything relevant to share here.
You also might do better posting this question in the Witcher 3 forum rather than General Discussion. Not all Goglodytes have an interest in the newest games as they release as many are into Good Old Games. At least in that forum, you should be pretty sure almost everyone is actually playing the game.
