La-Mulana. An ideal combination of Metroidvania with Zelda puzzle solving. Fun, smart, and difficult to beat.

If you want an quick-paced game, the newer Ys games are a good time killer. Skip Ys I & Ys II, as they haven't aged well.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet any of the games I'm pondering about. Aren't they any good?
Well System Shock 2, Worms, Earth, Tropico, Postal 2 were mentioned, but those weren't the real question actually:

If anyone has a decent compute for ps3 and above quality gaming graphics look into Darksiders 1 and 2

If you are into Zelda puzzle solving and God of war/ Devil may cry combat and the voice acting of something like Spawn and art style of spawn than you will actualy love this game and it is pretty damn lengthy too.

and for space combat space gemini 2 is pretty damn fun as well

And for open world esk fps that you can mod to living hell get the stalker set skip clear sky unless you are a complitionist for sets

I can post a lot more but this list will get way too big haha :P

It's a fantastic rougelike with well crafted lore, near infinite replayability, dozens of class and races and naturaly a verydeep gameplay. For just 5$ with the espansion should be an instabuy for everyone.
Personally i bought it some months ago, i had never played a rougelike before and it was a thunderstruck :)

It's an absolute steal at that price. It's pretty good. Polished and enjoyable. Impossible to knock for the money. Not a game I'd consider for my top 5 strategy games or anything like that. But at that price? Yeah, get it.
