Another great publisher has come to GOG! To celebrate I will be giving some of the new WB titles away :-)

I need a good love poem or love story for my wife to read. Not one that is from me, I will have one for her from myself ;-)
But, she loves reading romantic stories and poems so the giveaway will consist of this:

1. Write a poem or story of your own (I would hate to search and find the story or poem on the net somewhere)
2. My wife will read them and pick her favorites
3. The top 2,3, or 4 (depends on participation and quality) that she chooses will get a WB title of their choice.
4. Please nothing lewd
5. Will run this giveawy until sometime this weekend
6. Please post the game interested in with story or poem

If love stories or poems are not your thing then be creative and come up with a good photo montage ;-)

Damn it.

Just kidding. Thank you very much for this great giveaway trentonlf! I'll step aside and let those who weren't able to buy a few this morning have a shot.

HVD to you and your wife. :)

Me and my girlfriend first met on Valentines day three years ago. My best friends hamster died on that day and she was devastated, called me to come over and see if he could be saved. When I got to her place on her sofa sat the most beautiful creature I had ever seen holding a blow-dryer and trying to wake up a hamster from early hibernation he had fallen into.

She is the love of my life and has truly given my life more meaning, we are thinking about getting engaged and I couldn't think about spending the rest of my life without her. Though we have our 'normal' anniversary half a year later Valentines day is really special to us. You have given me the inspiration to write her a poem this year, this below is really rough slapped together in 5min. Will need to fix it up a bit tomorrow after my exam:

I still remember the day I first met you,
the first time I saw your face,
the fist time I heard you laugh,
the first time I felt your touch.
You made me feel love for the first time,
something I only thought I knew before you.
You are the only person that can complete me,
and the last one I will ever need.

edit: forgot to state a game... ether LEGO batman or HP 5-7. Bought HP 1-4 today, such a great co-op game.

not in, but thanks!
man, I have a book filled with crap love poems I wrote when I was in my early 20s, but I can't find it! grrr.

Well while I look for those nuggets of awesome, I will share with you one of my favorite love poets, Pablo Neruda. I dated a guy who would send me snippets of Neruda's work. The relationship tanked, but my love of the poetry did not.

actually, if your wife loves this kinda stuff, get her a copy of Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair. It's a little book, but great. ok, it's a bit sad, but it's still great. :)

Here is one from the book:

Here I love you.
In the dark pines the wind disentangles itself.
The moon glows like phosphorous on the vagrant waters.
Days, all one kind, go chasing each other.

The snow unfurls in dancing figures.
A silver gull slips down from the west.
Sometimes a sail. High, high stars.
Oh the black cross of a ship.
Alone.

Sometimes I get up early and even my soul is wet.
Far away the sea sounds and resounds.
This is a port.

Here I love you.
Here I love you and the horizon hides you in vain.
I love you still among these cold things.
Sometimes my kisses go on those heavy vessels
that cross the sea towards no arrival.
I see myself forgotten like those old anchors.

The piers sadden when the afternoon moors there.
My life grows tired, hungry to no purpose.
I love what I do not have. You are so far.
My loathing wrestles with the slow twilights.
But night comes and starts to sing to me.

The moon turns its clockwork dream.
The biggest stars look at me with your eyes.
And as I love you, the pines in the wind
want to sing your name with their leaves of wire
Hahaha, what a perfect excuse to feed your gifting addiction, my friend!

Thank you for another most generous GA, many +1s (wish I could hit that button more than once). :-)

So, lewd is out; does it have to be a happy one?

Happy is not necessary, there are tragic love stories.

I am in for this one but I only have limited time so I will edit this post later with my story.

Thank you for this wonderful GA and great topic! I can not wait to read everyone's stories =)
Dunno if it counts, so I'm not sure if I'm in but I have a little haiku about tragic love as sad poems are permitted according to one of the earlier posts. So here goes, lol :D

Winter season came
Lots of chillin' and gaming
No love for me, duh!

xD

oh yeah and if it counts I'd like to enter for lego harry potter years 1-4 :)

Ah...

Love is so short, forgetting is so long.

Though this be the last pain that she makes me suffer
and these the last verses that I write for her.
Don't remember the artichokes poem, have to look it up.

If you haven't already, you should also read 100 Love Sonnets.
