Don't sweat it, these are all pretty good options.

Our battle against the relentless heat continues unabated. This time we're seeking shelter in dungeons, worm mounds, prison cells, and the cold embrace of space! We're calling it the Weekend Sale Refuge and we've saved you a spot, right next to some great company, including:

If succumbing to insanity outweighs feeling sweaty for you, then Darkest Dungeon is the place to be. Enriched with content updates, expansions, and all manners of chilling monstrosities, it remains one of the most punishing but rewarding turn-based RPGs out there.

When Earth offers no respite, just hop on your mothership and go after some feisty Space Pirates and Zombies. Blow up the competition, build an empire of your own, and always look out for the infected.

The Weekend Sale lasts until August 13th, 10pm UTC.
Looks like I have quite some of these. None of which I would recommend.

If there is one, shouldn't it be one hour from now?

Keep the hype alive! ;)
I have Phronic wishlisted. Why? :P

Also, for anyone eyeing the Escapists games, feel free to PM/ask me about them, because while I worship them, they are not for everyone! :P

Buying Escapists is either going to be the best money you ever spent or a colossal rip off. :D

I'm a bit curious about this, why "not for everyone" ?
What is nice/not nice ?
Is there only one way to escape to each prison ? Is it replayable ?
No interestings sales or new releases....

Oh well seems like i will be waiting for Death's Gambit and really hope it's good.

It can be a lot of tedious monotonous work leading to the trill of success.

For instance: You need a screw driver to open a vent to get out. Well, you need the screw driver, that could take several work shifts to get the money. Then you need a fake vent cover. That means you need papier mâché which means you need glue and toiler paper. Both of these things need to be stolen or bartered for which could mean waiting for days before someone gets it to be bought or stolen. Of course, you need to learn how to make the vent, so that means you need to spend time in the library.

NOW, this of course all depends on whether or not using the vent is an option. The prison may not have a vent system, or a heavily monitored one, so you need to spend a lot of time just walking around looking, casing, taking notes. What guards are where, tower location, fencing. If I tunnel out, where can I dig it to? If I cut out through the fence, where are the blind spots, the power stations for the fence if it's electrified?

THIS on top of the routine which is really the crux of the name of the game. You are expected to be certain places at all times, be it meals, head counts, jobs, yard time, shower time. Failure to do so will cause guards to beat your ass, put you in solitary, raid your cell. take your contraband.

HOWEVER, once you have completed your masterpiece and carried our your plan, you will dance an sing and pat yourself on the back for being a genius...at least until you start the next prison. :P
The very best QuakeCon sale. Keep it up!

I see, I understand a lot more what to expect !
And so, do you have only one way out for each prison (= only one possible solution), or are there multiple possible solutions every time ?
Thank you very much for your long answer ;)

Countless ways to escape from each prison, including just causing a riot and knocking out all the guards, but that is messy and VERY difficult.

I was afraid that it would be very linear... Glad to hear it's not the case, it's a lot more interesting !
I'll really think about it !
Thanks again :D

Brings to memory the videogame that first implemented such mechanics, The Abbey of Crime, from Opera Soft. Published in 1987 by Opera soft and based on the Umberto Eco's novel The Name of the Rose. Made by Paco Menéndez with Juan Delcán as graphic artist.

ADDED: The player handled the two main characters in the novel, Adso of Melk and his mentor William of Baskerville This character was inspired by the real William of Ockham, by the way, while his family name comes from, well, you know, a very famous detective ;-)

They try to solve the crimes while following the strict regime in the abbey for collective prayer, meals, etcetera, lest they were expelled before completing their investigation.
