tfishell: Pajama Sam!

Still missing the rest of the Humongous games though, and I doubt we'll be seeing them any time soon. :( Oh well, you can buy them on Steam, and they'll technically be DRM-free.
Every time I see a sale on Humongous games, I always check the thread to see if you've posted tfishell. I have yet to be disappointed : )

On another note, I wonder when we'll get the rest of the Neptunia series. Megadimension Neptunia VII just came out on Steam, so now would be the perfect time to release Re;Birth 2 & Re;Birth 3 on GOG.

Probably won't. It supposedly sold badly.
I wanted to buy the rest just not the first. :l

omega64: If only they had the Dutch audio here like they do on Steam. :l
I would actually buy them right now. I'll just wait...
Oh yeah. :( Well I just sent a message to Retroism about that; you can too if you want. http://retroism.com/contact/

(And we're still missing many other Retroism games currently on Steam. :-/)

I wasn't aware that Re;Birth 1 sold badly, but if it did, I could definitely see why. The GOG community tends to be attracted to certain games or genres while shying away from others. Still, it would be great if there were a way that we could check sales figures for GOG games. Perhaps something like Steam Spy?
I wonder why the difference in price between Steam and GoG on the Tropico 5 Complete - Steam was $9.99 over their summer sale, but GoG continues to be $16.99. Why is GoG almost twice the price? Is there a difference, and is it worth $7?
How is Tropico 4? Does it really need the DLC pack?
I already own all the games I'm interested in from this promo, except one "Crookz – The Big Heist".

I'm not going to buy it, as long as the Linux version is not available on GOG though.

nice
Deadlock is definitely worth to check out for any fan of the civ series. The 2nd is good too, but I think the AI might not be as fun to play against.

I really liked it. It's like Tropico 1 but more buildings and it keeps you entertained with funny dialogues and quests. The modern times addon is worth it.

paladin181: I thought Dragon Sphere was free?... They're charging $5.99 for it now? When did that happen?
When the publisher of the game decided they wanted to start charging money for it to make a profit. Presumably a lot of old games are given away because publishers don't think they have any monetary value, and later they see that zillions of ancient games are being sold for $2/5/10 and making a profit out of basically thin air. If I owned the IP for an old game like that and had been giving it away for free in this gaming economy, I'd be charging $6-10 for it now too or someone would have to take me to get my head examined. :)

I can't fault any game publisher from starting to charge money for games they've given away for free previously. Not like they ever had any obligation to ever give them away for free or anything after all. Another positive thing it potentially does is perhaps make them consider bringing other games they own the IP for back from the dead and re-releasing them, or even doing remakes or remasters if there seems like there is an interest.

Many people are still waiting to hear the E3 announcment of Dragonsphere 2. That very well could be funded by the sales of Dragonsphere... Just some food for thought! :)

But is the game still playable without the addon? Does it just add more buildings or more missions?

The truth is a bit simpler. Dragonsphere used to be owned by Atari. The same Atari that had a massive free-for-all IP auction 3 years ago thanks to the threat from bankruptcy. One of the games that they auctioned was, you guessed it, Dragonsphere. Enter Tommo who bought Dragonsphere along with about 100 more games from Atari. Since Tommo paid for the game, they din't feel like offering it for free anymore and wanted to charge for it. After they released the game on Steam with a price, there were complaints that the game was still free on GOG. The maintainer of the release there said that it would soon be "fixed". Well, typical to GOG's definition of soon, it took them a bit over a year till the game stopped being free here. :P

GOG apparently had a contract with Atari regarding the game which didn't expire until the end of 2015, and apparently the new owners of the game were required to honor that for its duration.

I prefer my scenario. :P
