Many links on his profile too...
Uncongratulations to GOG, we've hit at least 2000 spam posts in the new thread. This could so easily be prevented.

Refusing to create threads with too many numbers in the subject (as they tend to be phone numbers), and too much reused of known spammer keywords or duplicated subjects from the same person among ways to stifle spam.

Or my favorite method: Pay/Redeem to get in. It has worked for SomethingAwful for over two decades, it could work even easier for here, since there are several cheap as free games that could be redeemed as part of a litmus/sapience test. At least one of them would appeal to actual humans, you got Postal, Tyrian, OpenTTD, Eschaon Book 1, and several other choices!

Of course, this may exclude users too incompetent to operate a blanket, but that is a risk that I'd be willing to take, since we've all seen more than our fair share of people complaining about having to solve a simple thing such as "click on the every image that contains scenes from the broadway version of CATS."

Pay indeed, but needs to total at least $5 or $10, that's actual and not discount (so getting a $20 game for $0.79 wouldn't count as $20, nor would redeeming gift codes from someone else)

Other litmus tests would include having an image and changing from the default title at least once. Though the 'New user, indistinct silhouette' combo would make it slightly harder to identify bots.

Darvond: Cats_(musical)
Replace () with %28 and %29. Like so.

True, I've suggested the :10bux: tax before, but others have balked at the idea. Changing avatars and titles would be a good test too. Or the good ole "make an introduction post with a key phrase in it.", but that's probably getting too oldschool.

A spammer that appears to be running a travel agent from their profile... It's full of links to travel agency web sites etc. I've heard of free advertising, but this is taking the proverbial...
