At the end of the day, this forum is a video gaming discussion board, so I don't see why there should be any backlash to posting information that other video gamers find useful.

FYI - this was the "industrial standard" - all DD stores took 30% cut, including gOg who still does so. The only exceptions was Humble Store (75% / 20% + 5% to charity) and itch.io, who lets the dev / publisher decide how big the cut should be (can even be 0%)

oh, and it is not a "tax" it is income a store needs to survive. they need to pay employees salaries, pay for bandwidth and server space, pay rent for offices, pay the real taxman, pay electricity bills and so on. these monies must come from somewhere, this is no more a "tax" than the bread you get in a shop costs more than what the store payed for it.
