rampancy: If GOG thinks that the games we want are "too niche" for their store, then perhaps it's time we started thinking of GOG as being "too niche" for our money.
DONE.

karnak1: Does the game have some sort of "plot" or main quest which can be completed?
I honestly find the game interesting, but right now I don't have the patience to play a game which lacks focus or an objective aside from survival.

I already have real life for that :P
actually, the game has many starting scenarios with loads of objectives to achieve

darthspudius: For god's sake can we not put all these "but not on GOG" threads in one topic? I mean seriously, you lot keep recycling the same shit for different games. Contain it in one thread will you.
perhaps this is an indication of an issue that is systemic to GOG?

curation is nice but, I am intelligent enough to recognize what is good. GOG chooses to insult this intelligence in some ill-placed need to pander to the lowest common denominator--because we need a Steam 2.0
To be fair: Seeing screenshots like this lets me understand GoG's point of view. It's not about low tech graphics but about bad visual design, I guess. There are 30 year old games that look better.
Of course the content and gameplay could be grand but from what I've gathered about it, it's not so great or unique either and I despise permadeath (at least there's a mod against it for "Don't Starve").

There's a mod to turn off permadeath in Don't Starve? O_O
Do want.

also, let us open a discussion on the topic of Don't Starve Together and GOG--it could be very... enlightening :)

Yup:

I wish I would have known about this mod before I wasted so many hours of gameplay by dying by complete surprises dozens of times and getting tired of the game. I will definitely play it again this year with the mod.
It lets you choose wether you want to permanently die, respawn (Diablo 2 way: equipment still at the corpse's position) or reload from the last save.

You forgot to add games like No Pinapple Left Behind, and Californium. Makes it a bit more difficult spotting the odd one out....

^ This.

RWarehall makes a valid point though. Given the work GOG staff have to put into every game released, it's understandable that they have to draw a line somewhere. And although I might not always agree with it, I still prefer it to the "we'll take everything we can get our hands on" approach.

In this case, niche as it may be I would still like to see it here since it's a rather unique game. That being said, I got it for free from Desura, and so did many more I suspect. So I understand why GOG didn't take it.

Maybe because those games have been out over a week. What I have shown is that Unreal World is by far, selling much worse than this week's other Day 1 releases on GoG.

So you are going to cherry pick a couple mistakes by GoG? This still doesn't show Unreal World belongs in the catalog. It shows GoG probably should have left those two out as well...

Clearly, you are unable to admit you don't know what you are talking about when you call GoG stupid for not bringing this game here. It is not selling and in this case GoG was correct, not you.
Couple other cRPG's GOG has rejected:

The Quest - Islands of Ice and Fire expansion
Steamspy:
Release date: Feb 19, 2016
Price: $9.99
Userscore: 88%
Owners: 6,153 ± 2,004
Votes on GOG: 178

The Quest's generic name is really hurting it's visibility.

Antharion
Steamspy:
Release date: Jul 15, 2015
Price: $14.99
Userscore: 70%
Owners: 6,145 ± 1,692
Votes on GOG: 88

Ruzar - The Life Stone
Steamspy:
Release date: Dec 2, 2015 (previously in Early Access)
Price: $12.99
Owners: 2,680 ± 756
Votes on GOG: 72

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians
Steamspy:
Release date: Nov 6, 2015
Price: $19.99
Userscore: 83%
Owners: 10,132 ± 2,160
Votes on GOG: 389

KeeperRL
Steamspy:
Release date: Mar 31, 2015
Price: $14.99
Userscore: 91%
Owners: 12,819 ± 2,497
Votes on GOG: 48

Dex
Steamspy:Dex
Release date: May 7, 2015 (previously in Early Access)
Price: $19.99
Userscore: 81%
Owners: 26,072 ± 3,816
Votes on GOG: 865

Loren The Amazon Princess
Steamspy:
Release date: Jan 15, 2014
Price: $19.99
Userscore: 80%
Owners: 77,634 ± 6,292
Votes on GOG: 164

Planet Stronghold
Steamspy:
Release date: May 5, 2014
Price: $18.99
Userscore: 56%
Owners: 38,350 ± 4,463
Votes on GOG: 53

Anyone remember any other similar rejects?

Current Unreal World stats for comparison:

UnReal World
Steamspy:
Price: $10.99
Userscore: 97%
Owners: 7,246 ± 1,710
Votes on GOG: 247

Then again these were accepted to GOG:

Serpent in the Staglands
Steamspy
Release date: May 28, 2015
Price: $19.99
Userscore: 78%
Owners: 8,718 ± 1,971
Votes on GOG: 619

Telepath Tactics
Steamspy:
Release date: Apr 16, 2015
Price: $14.99
Userscore: 78%
Owners: 5,321 ± 1,445
Votes on GOG: 18

Elminage Gothic
Steamspy:
Release date: Sep 18, 2014
Price: $9.99
Userscore: 65%
Owners: 11,679 ± 2,065
Votes on GOG: 71

Considering major portion of GOG userbase is old school gamers, I don't know why GOG keeps rejecting games made in old school style.

Edit: Added Ruzar - The Life Stone, The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians, Planet Stronghold and KeeperRL to rejected rpg's list

I think the answer is pretty obvious many times. This time its because it was available free for so long and because its name would be confusing people with the Unreal Tournament games. You could add to that the graphics suck. Probably also add that all these types of games seem not to be selling well here as you have evidenced above. The disappointing sales of the above titles have probably made GoG gunshy for many titles in this genre, especially ones offered for free in the past...
