... I turned on my PS4, for the first time since early July.
k... and?
Just proves how useless that console is
mmhmm
I thought you were going to say a goat.

Anyways, there's a small number of games that I'd like to play that are PS4 only, it's a shame to spend that much money on a system for so few games that I'm interested in.
I own a bluray player.

I hear it also plays PS4 games...
I'd say it says more about the owner than the device.
...to play movie on bluray disc.
I bought a cheap blu-ray player for $50 at Walmart.

Congrats, you just paid 8 times that amount to watch blu-rays, and you'll have to pay more for the privilege to play games. :)

This. Unless I'm really busy, my PS4 and PS3 are used several times a week. The Wii U is used daily, as (of course) is the PC. The XB1 is used less, but that's due to having far less games on it - and Microsoft aren't helping given they release one a month (retail), if we're lucky. And people wonder why XB1 is doing so badly in certain regions.

Don't just look at the PS4 only games, that type of tunnel vision is what makes people spend beyond their means. Look for games on the platforms you already have that you haven't played, you'll probably find more than you think are out there.

But you have the right mindset, why buy a platform for only a few games you want to play? The day game consoles become disposable, they'll probably turn into cell phones. <grin>
I was cautiously thinking about one day perhaps strongly considering purchasing a PS4. This thread is not encouraging.

There are a lot of games available for the PS4 and not available for the PC. So you should check out those games wotj let's play videos and see if they are good enough for you to justify you buying a PS4.

To be honest, I'd rather sink my money into a nice custom PC with a top-end nVidia graphics card. You'll probably spend a bit more than you would a game console, but you'd also have a platform which could emulate others'.

The only concern is not being able to get certain games that are made specifically for those platforms --but I'm sure with enough pressure to move them to others, it would be worth the wait.

I'd really like to see "The Last of Us" on PC, and heck, hopefully here on GOG some day, but until then, I have more games than I could ever play in my lifetime.

BTW, controversial as it may be, Saint's Row 3 is a fun sandbox game. I enjoyed it.

Hype train hits me just as hard as it does you guys. Fallout 4 and all that other shit coming out soon has made me hornier than a sailor in a Vietnamese saloon. No worries. I'll persevere and weather the storm. But damn is it hard. We should all spend more time crying in our backlogs.
