BlackMageJ: Ooh, I've been looking for a decent Android 4X for a while. Not that I'm any good at 4X games, but I'm always willing to try and fail miserably. Especially if it's Star Trek related, even if it has had the serial numbers filed off.
Unfortunately because of licensing reasons the Star Trek lore can't be used, except in mods, but you'll find the resemblance pretty close.
Membership applied for! I like 4X, I have an android tablet, and I've got a 3 hour flight next week. Seems like a match made in heaven.

blotunga: I didn't wanted to make the game public yet as I would like to work out any game-breaking bugs before a public release.
To be fair, a public release without any form of advertizing or press coverage will not attract anybody except the people you directly show the game to.

Yepp, long flights was one of the reasons why I wanted to port this. Btw if you guys encounter bugs (which is highly likely at this point), please send a savegame also. Next week if I have time I put in an option to have a autosaves, but right now you have to save manually. Also it can happen that after an update dalvik remains in a weird state and the game crashes while loading or starting a new game, in these cases restarting the game should be enough.

That is also true, but I don't feel it's ready for being called stable. So that's why I decided to do at least a bit of alpha testing with volunteers.

Actually no. I've looked into the settings and only I can see member's emails. And now I've even disabled members seeing eachother so from the privacy standpoint you needn't be worried imho.
Cool, id like to try it out! Request send.
Btw. I have to manually aprove new members so if I'm not online it might take a couple of hours until I can check on my emails.
Also keep in mind that the game has a bit of learning curve so if you don't know how to do something, ask.

While preparing the release a typo slipped in and combat between ships is a bit broken, the tactic decision screen never comes up and you don't have any options to attack/hail etc. Unfortunately I can't fix it before Monday, so if you encounter the issue just save and wait for Monday's update. Sorry about it... but I warned that it's alpha :). It's a complex game and it's easy to slip up.

In that case, the information Google presents is wrong. Still, application sent.
My first impression:

- very pleasant look (did you really make all the artwork new?)
- already very far (alpha status at least)
- how can I send ships to next planets, they don't seem to move
- end turn on the left, upper corner while most people are right handed (lower right corner would be better)
- how could I miss the original game (I loved star empire, galciv, moo)
- should we give feedback rather here or on the bote-google-group (i don't mind)

1. No, the artwork is from the original Birth of the Empires which was for PC (I asked and got permission to port the game from the original developer a german fellow with the nickname SirPustekuchen).
2. ..
3. Click on the system again (the rectangle will turn red) select ship, click somewhere on the map, you'll see a number which indicates the number of turns to reach destination, and click again to confirm destination. While the dots are green instead of blue yiu haven't yet confirmed the course. You will hear "affirmative" if a correct course is laid in.
4. Ship command buttons are drawn in the lower right, you'll find that you will use those alot.
5. Dunno :)
6. Right now it's about the same for me but if there will be lots of testers (> 20) then probably we'll have to get organized somehow. I will probably have to open an issuetracker also at bitbucket where the sources are hosted.
