I think it's good news.

Remasters are coming?
Gothic 4?
Or maybe completely new game?
Which division of THQ Nordic are we speaking about ? it's not Deep Silver right because i don't like Deep Silver !

Elex 2 is next game most likely and 99% likely i think, the extra funds however should be very useful for them.

Edit: It seems it's actually THQ Nordic GmbH ( Austria division) that will act of publisher so yes good news i assume.

It's THQ Nordic, no mention of Deep Silver: https://wccftech.com/gothic-risen-elex-dev-piranha-bytes-purchased-thq-nordic/

Yes i saw that just now and changed it but thanks :) it's a relief.
Meh, pretty awful news. There goes another independent developer.
So long as the next news title doesn't read, 'THQ Nordic buys up half of indie studios, makes exclusive 10 year distribution deal with Epic.'

I shouldn't even joke about that. Joking about these things tends to make them happen.
As longs as this means the games will stay on GOG and future installments also come here, it'll be OK.
I wonder what's wrong with Interplay IPs, that THQ Nordic has not bought them yet.
Wasn't Gothic already owned by THQ? I could have sworn that was the case.

What date is today, is it still 2020s?
For Piranha Bytes, the day they were acquired was the most important day of their lives.
But for Nordic, it was Tuesday.

Yeah. That's my reaction to any purchase. Some are way worse than others, but none are non-bad news.
I really need to play Elex. Have heard so many good things about it. Maybe this new deal will improve the franchise and personally I would love a remaster of Gothic 2.

The Gothic part of the title confused me a little bit. They already aquired the Gothic IP when they bought JoWood Entertainment. Now I am reading that Piranha Bytes got the rights back in 2011.
