what a dumb clown he is.
Whelp, in a year CP2k77 should be out, and in which case; Outer limits who?
Well, i understand the intention to give your game some sort of "second life" after a certain period of time, but it will probably fail. There are much better games coming in 2020.

sucht: what a dumb clown he is.
It's a controversial observation, but he is 100% correct.
Honestly, after I saw the Steam logo on that trailer and not the GOG one, I just assumed that it wasn't coming here day 1 and planned on waiting anyways.

Plenty of games in my backlog!

He's not correct at all, you newbie... has Epic started paying it's fortnite players come here as well?

Did you even read the article? Most users have accounts on several/all launchers due to the free game giveaways or exclusives made by the company behind the launcher. There's no point in convincing customers to pick one platform over another anymore. The real winning strategy is convincing publishers and developers to publish exclusively on your platform. That's what he's saying, and he is, I'll say it again, 100% correct.
Thanks to the publisher for saving me money right now, also thanks to Obsidian (one of my favorite developers) apparently selling out. I will wait for a DRM-free release on GOG. Don't care if it takes a year. That's actually enough time for them to bring us a deluxe version with DLCs and extras. I'd buy it day 1, I'd preorder, I'd likely buy the most premium edition as I have with scores of other games...as long as it is DRM-free here.

TARFU: I'd like to listen to a Steam leadership meeting. I'll bet gaben is getting real nervous about now.
Not really, EGS is a joke on so many levels, GOG is the only real competition to Steam and even this doesn't threaten it.

Most people aren't going to buy games on EGS, they're going to wait for a Steam or GOG release, like I'm doing with Operencia (which the developers responded positively to my request that it come to GOG after the exclusivity period has expired) instead of dealing with yet another client that manages to be so garbage even Origin (UPlay still sucks more) seems decent by comparison.

ehhhh.... I really hope I'm wrong, but I'd be kinda surprised if was on GOG at all in 2020, maybe even ever. I think plenty of people have made it clear that it'll be "DRM-free" on its release date though (maybe even earlier than that), and if anybody here is considering that, I say go for it lol

If that's the case, it's their loss. As another user said, it is not as though us GOG users aren't used to waiting sometimes even years for games to come here. If it doesn't, well, that's a shame. I wouldn't mind the highly unlikely scenario it was exclusively DRM-free on another DRM-free like itch or Zoom, etc. But no interest these days in Epic and Steam's versions of "DRM-free". Too much hassle for me to bother circumventing their bloatware. I'll stick with my easy-to-use offline installers from here and a few other stores...now that is what I consider "convenience" :)
Chris Avellone:

Obsidian management, you had ONE job
Realistcally, I probably wasn't going to buy it at release anyway partially due to more than likely needing to upgrade my computer, but this makes the decision a lot easier. I can wait on a GOG release.
As several GoGers already post, I'm gonna wait for a GoG release. I hope 1 year gonna be enough time for GoG staff to secure the release of this game here.
"Metro: Exodus managed to put up some impressive sales numbers despite the widespread backlash against Deep Silver's decision to move Metro: Exodus from Steam to the Epic Games Store and cries of "no steam, no sale". The game sold 2.5 times as much as its predecessor, Metro: Last Light did on Steam. As a test case it's good news for Epic and the developers itching to move off of Steam.

So not only did Metro: Exodus make more money selling on Epic, Deep Silver got to keep a significantly larger chunk of that money. Valve takes a baseline 30% cut of all Steam sales, with that number dropping as low as 20% for top earners. Epic, on the other hand, takes only 12%, and also throws in the Unreal Engine license for free if a developer chooses to use it. If you want to know why developers are interested in the Epic Games Store, that's why."
