snowkatt: hopefully it wil be less then 99 euro cause otherwise its a bit steep
avatar
InfraSuperman: According to a German Eurogamer article, its US price will be roughly $60.
so add in bullshit euro inflation and vauge addition to the total

79 euro ?
I hope that Nintendo will do it properly, because most of the times this things are only bad emulators... I really hope so...

pimpmonkey2382.313: It's of no use to people with either of these things:

NES console

Virtual console or even hell

An NES clone system.

snowkatt: none of those have an hdmi upscaler though
and hopefully there wil be more games to come
There are remedies for that.
Cool! It won't replace my top-loading NES, but I'm still interested in buying one as a collector of Nintendo memorabilia. I wonder if you can replace the roms inside of the device like the portable SEGA Genesis released last year...

Hope you have the top loader modded, because those tend to suck more than the toaster.
Hehe, does it come with savestate ability?
I like the naming scheme: "NES Classic Edition"

Think that indicates anything about a non-classic edition?

I think it would be great if they resurrected the branding for their new console. From "Nintendo Entertainment System" to the "Nintendo Entertainment eXperience" or something like that.
I think I would be much happier with this if it at least had a cartridge slot. As it is now, I'm really meh on it.

Interesting. Well, if they decide to do that with the SNES and the right games, they can definitely have my money :D

Nah, not a NOAC I'm guessing it's an emulation box, sort of like the atgames genesis systems.

The top-loader NES is actually pretty durable compared to the front-loader. There's less chance that the pin connector will get bent from repeated use unlike the old VCR model.

Its only real flaw is in the visual department, and this is only noticeable when you connect the top-loader to modern TVs. There are a few bars which run across the screen due to the way video output is managed, but it's nothing major that would impair playability :P

If you take care of your toaster, it'll be just as reliable as the top loader, without all the visual problems of the top loader.
